Everyone knew something was going to happen coming out of an intense Game 4 between the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals. All of the talk after the Capitals' win was about Tom Wilson’s hit on Isles defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky.

Most Islanders were extremely critical of Wilson for the hit, which was at the very least on the borderline. It got Wilson a charging penalty and nothing more, which did not please the team from Long Island. So it was handled in the way hockey players sometimes take care of their own business.

Islanders forward Anders Lee didn’t wait long to get revenge on Wilson. The big forward challenged him just 5:22 into the game and the two dropped the gloves. Lee got the first good shot in, but then Wilson started unloading. Lee earned the takedown, but we might have to give the decision to Wilson.

Now that the retribution for Visnovsky is out of the way, perhaps the two teams can focus on hockey.

In fact, the Isles didn’t waste much time getting back to the hockey. The club’s top line of John Tavares, Kyle Okposo and Josh Bailey connected for the game’s first goal a mere 26 seconds after the fight.

Bailey converted on a slick feed from Tavares to give the Isles a 1-0 lead. They might have been just a tad amped up after the scrap. Just a tad.

The Caps did end up answering just over three minutes later, however. It's a heck of a battle out there.
