Islanders' Josh Bailey: One goal in last nine games
Bailey failed to score once again as the Islanders lost to the Lightning 4-1 on Sunday.
Bailey has only seven goals and 31 points in 55 games. Last season, he had eight goals and 35 points in 54 games. While that difference is negligible, Bailey had a rating of plus-12 last year, which has plummeted to minus-5 this season. That's a pretty significant difference for a player who hasn't provided much offense, especially under defense-first coach Barry Trotz. While the Islanders will certainly explore moving Bailey in the offseason, he still has two years and $10 million left on his contract. That makes him likely to wind up back with the Islanders next season.... See More ... See Less

Bailey recorded an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Capitals.
Bailey had an opportunity in the 10th round of the shootout, but Vitek Vanecek came up with a key save. Still, Bailey has been terrific of late, as he's crafted a four-game point streak comprised of three goals and four assists. Don't let Bailey's third-line assignment fool you; he's quite productive in that role.... See More ... See Less

He's doubled his season goal total to six in that span, with his pair of goals pacing the Islanders' offense Friday. The 32-year-old's last multi-goal game was April 20, 2021. Islanders' Josh Bailey: Goalless streak at seven games
Bailey failed to register a goal for the seventh straight game Wednesday in a 3-0 loss to Seattle.
Bailey has four assists during his last seven games, so it's not like he's been invisible, but his lack of goals highlights a problem for both him and the team this season. Bailey set up Brock Nelson on the opening tally at 11:44 of the second period. The 32-year-old has 15 points (four on the power play), 24 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating in 26 contests overall. His lack of physicality and decreased scoring pace compared to recent seasons has sapped most of his usefulness in fantasy.... See More ... See Less
