  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Gets goal after scratch

Turcotte scored a goal on three shots, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Friday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Ducks. Turcotte was scratched Monday versus the Senators, and it may have sparked his play. The 24-year-old snapped his 11-game point drought upon his return to the lineup, and he earned 13:27 of ice time. The Kings have struggled to get much out of their centers this year, with Turcotte and Phillip Danault in particular struggling. Turcotte is at one goal, three assists, 19 shots on net, 13 PIM and a minus-3 rating while primarily playing on the fourth line through 23 appearances.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Scratched amid slump

Turcotte was a healthy scratch in Monday's 2-1 win over the Senators. Turcotte entered Monday on an 11-game point drought and didn't receive the chance to end the slump. His ice time has been trending down -- he saw just 5:33 in Friday's game against Boston. While Turcotte hasn't been able to make the most of limited minutes this season, his replacement Monday, Samuel Helenius, logged just 3:25 of ice time. That could lead to an open competition for the last forward spot in the lineup until one of those two players impresses head coach Jim Hiller.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Slings helper in shootout win

Turcotte provided an assist and five PIM in Wednesday's 6-5 shootout win over the Golden Knights. Turcotte's penalty was a major for boarding in the second period that led to two goals for the Golden Knights. Aside from that, the 24-year-old looked effective in a fourth-line role. He's averaging just 7:09 of ice time per game through two contests, adding one shot on net, two blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating. He'll need to continue being impressive in a limited role to keep Samuel Helenius in the press box. Still, Turcotte also has enough scoring upside to move up the lineup when injuries occur.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Produces two points

Turcotte scored a power-play goal, dished an assist and logged three hits in Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Kraken. With Anze Kopitar resting and Quinton Byfield (upper body) out, Turcotte received a bump up to the top line at even strength. The 24-year-old Turcotte made the most of that move, as he and Adrian Kempe assisted on each other's goals. This was Turcotte's third game back from an upper-body injury. The forward is now at nine goals, 25 points, 77 shots on net, 44 hits, 30 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 67 appearances.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Expected to return Saturday

Turcotte (upper body) is ready to return for Saturday's game against Colorado, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site. Turcotte will return to a bottom-six role after missing the last nine games. He has eight goals, 23 points, 38 hits and 27 blocks in 64 outings in 2024-25. Due to Turcotte's return, Jeff Malott or Trevor Lewis might be a healthy scratch versus the Avalanche.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Slated to miss another game

Turcotte (upper body) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Ducks, Russell Morgan of Hockey Royalty reports. Although the 24-year-old will miss a ninth consecutive game Thursday, head coach Jim Hiller said after the team's morning skate that Turcotte is "very close" to returning to action. As a result, it seems possible that he'll be in the mix to return against Colorado on Saturday. Turcotte has made 64 appearances this year, logging eight goals, 15 assists, 38 hits, 27 blocked shots and 20 PIM while averaging 11:46 of ice time.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Progressing in recovery

Turcotte (upper body) returned to the ice for practice Sunday, but he remains without a timetable to return to game action, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports. While head coach Jim Hiller said that it was "progress" to see Turcotte on the ice for practice Sunday, Hiller said that he "won't expect him anytime soon." The Kings appear to be on track for a playoff berth, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the team exercise caution with Turcotte over the final week and a half of the regular season. However, if he's able to appear in at least some games before the postseason, it could help him regain his conditioning.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Unlikely to return Saturday

Turcotte (upper body) is unlikely to play in Saturday's home matchup with the Oilers, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports. It'll be the seventh straight game Turcotte's missed as he continues to nurse an upper-body injury. The 24-year-old forward has eight goals and 23 points in a career-high 64 games this season. Turcotte's next chance to suit up will come Monday when the Kings host Seattle.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Won't make trip Thursday

Turcotte (upper body) will not travel with the team for Thursday's clash with Utah, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports. Turcotte has already missed the Kings' last five games due to his upper-body issue and will now be sidelined for at least one more. It's been a decent campaign for the 24-year-old center, having generated eight goals, 15 assists and 75 shots in 64 appearances for the Kings this year. Samuel Helenius figures to remain in the lineup while Turcotte is on the shelf.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Still sidelined

Turcotte (upper body) will not be an option for Tuesday's home matchup versus Winnipeg, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site. Turcotte will sit out his fifth consecutive game, and it's not clear if he's close to a return to the lineup. Tanner Jeannot (undisclosed) is also out Tuesday and Alex Laferriere (illness) is a game-time decision, so the Kings may have to utilize 11 forwards and seven blueliners again.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Dealing with upper-body injury

Turcotte will be out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Rangers due to an upper-body injury. Turcotte has two points over his last three games, but it appears he's suffered an injury that will cost him at least one contest. Trevor Moore (upper body) was on the ice for warmups and looks set to return to the lineup on the second line, while Trevor Lewis will stay in on the fourth line to cover Turcotte's absence.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: First goal since January

Turcotte scored a goal in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Blackhawks. Turcotte doubled the Kings' lead 59 seconds after Trevor Moore's opener with a tip-in. This was Turcotte's eighth goal of the campaign, but it was also the first time he's found the back of the net since tallying two goals in a 5-1 win over the Canucks on Jan. 16. The 24-year-old is having a career-best season in 2024-25, as he has racked up 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 62 appearances after being limited to just 32 games in his first three years in the league. That said, he's not much of a fantasy option outside of leagues that reward physicality, and even in those contexts, he'd only be a realistic alternative as a streaming option in deep formats.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Opens scoring Friday

Turcotte scored a goal on three shots in Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Jets. Turcotte tallied at 4:39 of the second period, ending his seven-game goal drought. In that span, he racked up three assists. The 23-year-old continues to see even-strength minutes on the top line, but he hasn't elevated his offense to be in line with that assignment, and his ice time remains more like that of a middle-six forward. Turcotte has five goals, 11 helpers, 37 shots on net and a plus-12 rating through 34 appearances.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Finds twine in overtime loss

Turcotte scored a goal in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Penguins. Turcotte has earned four points over his last four games. He's seen a boost in ice time over the last two contests while Trevor Moore (upper body) has been out -- it's been Turcotte filling in on the top line alongside Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe. For the season, Turcotte has 12 points, 28 shots on net and a plus-11 rating through 26 appearances, showing a little of the promise that made him the fifth overall pick in 2019.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Adds assist Tuesday

Turcotte notched an assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Islanders. Turcotte has four points over his last eight outings. The Kings have been using seven defensemen and 11 forwards, but with Turcotte as a fourth-line option, he's had to rotate in rather that having steady shifts lately. The 23-year-old is at nine points, 23 shots on net, 11 hits and a plus-9 rating through 23 appearances, and he remains part of the second power-play unit despite not having a point in that situation in 2024-25.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Slowly starting to develop

Turcotte scored Friday in a 2-1 win over Anaheim. He scored short side off a pass from Alex Laferriere in the second period to knot the game 1-1. Turcotte is having a solid season, with two goals, six assists, 20 shots and a plus-11 rating in 19 games. He may never live up to his 5th overall draft position (2019), but Turcotte may still develop into a solid a middle-six scorer.
