Turcotte was returned to AHL Ontario on Wednesday. Turcotte, who was called up Jan. 19, was a healthy scratch in three of seven games during his NHL stint. Kings' Alex Turcotte: Joins NHL roster
Turcotte was recalled from AHL Ontario on Thursday. Turcotte could be in line to make his season debut if Gabriel Vilardi (undisclosed) is unable to play against the Stars on Thursday, though fellow call-up Samuel Fagemo could also be in contention if needed. With the Reign this season, Turcotte has garnered five goals and seven assists in 19 appearances and will look to bring his offensive upside to the NHL level.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Sent to AHL on Thursday
Turcotte (concussion) has been activated and assigned to AHL Ontario on Thursday. Turcotte suffered the concussion in May while seeing action in the AHL. It has taken a long time to get over the symptoms, but now Turcotte will get a chance to resume his career. He was selected fifth overall in the 2019 Draft, but he has managed to play only eight games in the NHL, with all coming last season. Turcotte has yet to garner a point for the Kings.... See More ... Kings' Alex Turcotte: Starts skating
Turcotte (concussion) has skated on his own, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site. Turcotte suffered the concussion while playing in the AHL back in May. He wasn't able to participate in Los Angeles' rookie camp as a result and updates on his recovery have been sparse. It's encouraging that he's skating, but it's not clear when Turcotte will return.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Still awaiting medical clearance
Turcotte (concussion) has not been cleared by the Kings' medical staff and won't participate in the team's rookie camp, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports Thursday. Turcotte suffered his concussion back in May while playing in the AHL. The fact that he still hasn't been cleared by the team certainly should be a red flag for fantasy players, especially if he is unable to participate in training camp. Given his extended layoff, the 21-year-old center may have to start the 2022-23 campaign in the minors in order to get his legs back under him.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Sustains concussion
Turcotte suffered a concussion during the AHL playoffs, which has raised concerns within the organization, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radioreports. It was the second concussion of the season for Turcotte, who was not going to be able to play again in the playoffs as a result. In his eight NHL appearances this year, the Illinois native failed to register a point while tallying 13 shots, eight hits and two PIM. GIven the concern within the team, Turcotte's status for Opening Night of the 2022-23 season could be in jeopardy, though no official statement has been released.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Returned to minors
Turcotte was sent down to AHL Ontario on Tuesday, per LA Kings' Insider Jared Shafran. With the Kings off until Thursday, the decision to demote Turcotte to the minors shouldn't come as a surprise. Despite his solid production in the minors with 10 points in 18 contests, the Illinois native has yet to register his first NHL point after being held off the scoresheet in his first eight contests.... Kings' Alex Turcotte: Loaned to taxi squad
Turcotte was reassigned to the taxi squad Friday. Turcotte was a healthy scratch for Thursday's loss to the Avalanche, but he had appeared in five straight games with the Kings prior to that contest, so he could be back on the active roster prior to Sunday's clash with the Devils. The 2019 first-round pick has gone scoreless through eight top-level appearances this year.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Set to play Monday
Turcotte is expected in the lineup against the Rangers on Monday and will be elevated to the active roster, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports. Turcotte has appeared in just three games this season in which he registered six shots, two PIM and two hits while averaging 10:26 of ice time. While the 20-year-old center may have to serve time as a healthy scratch periodically, he figures to get plenty of opportunities this year and should be a mainstay in the lineup looking ahead to the 2022-23 campaign.... Kings' Alex Turcotte: Clears protocols, joins taxi squad
The Kings activated Turcotte from COVID-19 protocols and reassigned him to the practice squad Sunday, Lisa Dillman of The Athletic reports. The 20-year-old entered virus protocols Monday. Having played in only three games this season, Turcotte doesn't appear to be a big part of the Kings' 2021-22 plans and doesn't figure to see much NHL action this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Joins taxi squad

Turcotte was recalled from AHL Ontario on Thursday, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports. Turcotte has tallied five points and eight PIM through eight games with AHL Ontario this season. It's unclear if this is simply a paper move of if the 20-year-old forward will have a chance to make his NHL debut against New Jersey on Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Cleared for rookie tournament
Turcotte (abdomen) has been cleared to participate at the Rookie Faceoff tournament beginning this weekend, Zach Dooley of LA Kings Insider reports. Turcotte underwent an appendectomy near the end of August, but he's recovered in time to participate in the rookie tournament. The 20-year-old is likely to begin the 2021-22 campaign with AHL Ontario, where he picked up 21 points in 32 contests last year. He could be a candidate for a bottom-six role with the big club if injuries arise among the Kings' forwards during the season.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Undergoes appendectomy
Turcotte had surgery Thursday for acute appendicitis but should be ready for the Kings' rookie camp in mid-September. Turcotte spent his first professional season playing exclusively for AHL Ontario, for which he recorded six goals and 15 assists in 32 contests. The University of Wisconsin product was selected by Los Angeles with the fifth overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and should be given a chance to secure a roster spot for Opening Night during training camp this fall.... Kings' Alex Turcotte: Assigned to AHL
Turcotte (lower body) was assigned to AHL Ontario on Monday, TSN reports. Turcotte is expected to spend most of the season in the minors, as Kings GM Rob Blake said in December that he won't play more than seven games with the big club to preserve his three-year, entry-level contract. The Kings have high hopes for the 2019 fifth overall pick. Turcotte was impressive at the University of Wisconsin last year, recording 26 points over 29 games.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Alex Turcotte: Considered week-to-week
According to general manager Rob Blake, Turcotte is considered week-to-week with his lower-body issue, John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio reports. Once cleared, the plan is for Turcotte to skate on his own for a week before being assigned to AHL Ontario. The fifth overall pick from the 2019 draft clearly isn't expected to have a major role with the Kings in 2020-21, but it still wouldn't be surprising to see him make his NHL debut at some point this season.... Kings' Alex Turcotte: Leaving directly for Los Angeles
Turcotte will take a private chartered flight from the IIHF World Junior Championship in Edmonton directly to Los Angeles, Bob McKenzie of TSN of TSN. Turcotte will be joined on the plane by five other prospects of both the Kings and Ducks who competed in the World Juniors. The hope is that the private flight will allow the players to have a shortened (or non-existent) quarantine period -- which is mandated by the NHL -- and allow them to join their clubs right away for training camp. Turcotte recorded three goals and five assists in seven games for Team USA after managing just two points in five contests last year.... See More ... See Less
