Former Florida quarterback Chris Leak is making a return to Gainesville as the Gators' newest control assistant, Will Muschamp announced on Monday.

In addition to earning MVP honors in the BCS National Championship Game played in January 2007 -- Florida's first of two BCS titles under Urban Meyer, Leak served as the Gators' team captain for two years and broke several school passing records set by upcoming Hall of Fame inductee Danny Wuerffel.

Leak's addition to the staff comes after several years of bouncing around the CFL and Arena Football League. In addition to being a member of the 2009 Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes, Leak also worked as a member of media as an analyst on SiriusXM College Sports Nation and for CBS Sports Network.
