Warren will return to the Cubs' bullpen in the second half, but could still make more spot starts this season, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Although Warren allowed just one run across five innings in his single start this season, the Cubs plan to have him return to his usual role as a reliever for the time being. When pitching as a reliever, Warren has a 6.51 ERA and 1.59 WHIP. The team is still discussing whether they want to stretch him out again for further starts this season, but he is the obvious internal candidate to get any spot starts or to serve as an injury replacement in the rotation.
