Evan Carter CF | TEX
Rangers' Evan Carter: Steals in back-to-back games
Carter went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 7-3 win over the Mariners.
Carter, who made a fourth consecutive start Monday, has a steal in each of his last two games, upping his total to 13 for the season (caught once). He's provided offense during the four-start run, going 4-for-12 with two doubles, four walks, two RBI, two steals and three runs scored. Carter should find his name in the lineup whenever the Rangers face a right-hander

Kerry Carpenter RF | DET
Tigers' Kerry Carpenter: Shelved by plantar fasciitis
The Tigers placed Carpenter on the 10-day injured list Monday with left foot plantar fasciitis.
He exited Sunday's game versus the Royals with what was initially referred to as an aggravation of a bruised right heel, but after being evaluated further, Carpenter has been tagged with a plantar fasciitis diagnosis. It's an injury with the potential to lead to a lengthy absence, though it could be a pain tolerance issue for Carpenter. Matt Vierling, Hao-Yu Lee and Eduardo Valencia are candidates for more reps for the Tigers while Carpenter is out.

Trent Grisham CF | NYY
Yankees' Trent Grisham: Hitting bench versus lefty
Grisham is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.
He'll join fellow left-handed hitters Austin Wells and Ryan McMahon on the bench while southpaw Noah Schultz toes the rubber for the White Sox in the series opener. Grisham will be getting his first day off since July 8, breaking a streak of 13 consecutive starts during which he went just 7-for-49 (.143 average) with two home runs, no stolen bases, four RBI and five runs.

Cody Bellinger LF | NYY
Yankees' Cody Bellinger: Expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Bellinger is expected to be sidelined 4-to-6 weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.
Bellinger suffered the injury during Saturday's game versus the Phillies and was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday. It's another significant blow to a Yankees offense that's already missing Aaron Judge (ribs) and Giancarlo Stanton (calf). Spencer Jones will get plenty of reps in the outfield while Bellinger is out, and Max Schuemann will see some action versus lefties.

Jesus Sanchez DH | ARI
Blue Jays' Jesus Sanchez: Tracking toward Friday return
Sanchez (ankle) is on track to return from the 10-day injured list Friday against the Cardinals, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Sanchez has played three rehab games thus far and will move his assignment up to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday. He will play a couple more contests at the team's top minor-league affiliate before getting reinstated Friday if all goes well. Sanchez has been shelved since late June with a sprained right ankle. He should step back in as Toronto's primary left fielder upon his return.

Angel Martinez LF | CLE
Guardians' Angel Martinez: Exiting starting lineup
Martinez is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Cincinnati.
Martinez started in right field each of the last three days upon his return from the injured list, but he'll grab a seat in Monday's series opener. Chase DeLauter is handling right field Monday, Jose Ramirez will be the designated hitter and Gabriel Arias will play third base while Martinez gets a breather.

Colton Cowser CF | BAL
Orioles' Colton Cowser: Excluded from lineup Monday
Cowser is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.
Cowser's grip on a strong-side platoon role in the Baltimore outfield may be starting to slip. He'll be on the bench for the second time in the Orioles' last three matchups with right-handed pitchers, after mustering just three hits in 33 at-bats while striking out at a 31.7 percent clip so far in July. Leody Taveras will get the nod in center field over Cowser in the series opener in Detroit.

Kerry Carpenter RF | DET
Tigers' Kerry Carpenter: Likely bound for IL
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Monday that Carpenter is being evaluated for plantar fasciitis in his left foot and is trending toward a stint on the injured list, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
Detroit plans to re-evaluate Carpenter on Tuesday before making any roster moves, but Eduardo Valencia is en route from Triple-A Toledo and is expected to be formally recalled in the likely event Carpenter goes on the IL. The 28-year-old slugger made an early exit in Sunday's loss to the Royals due to what was referred to as an aggravation of a bruised right heel, but Hinch indicated that Carpenter is believed to be dealing with a slightly different injury. Along with Valencia, Carpenter's expected move to the IL could open up more playing time for the likes of Matt Vierling and Hao-Yu Lee, both of whom are included in the lineup for Monday's series opener versus the Orioles.

Kerry Carpenter RF | DET
Tigers' Kerry Carpenter: Not starting Monday
Carpenter (heel) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.
Carpenter will need at least one day off after he was lifted following the fourth inning of Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Royals due to right heel discomfort. Per MLB.com, Carpenter had recently been playing through a painful bruise on the same foot, which was caused by a pair of new cleats. Carpenter was set to undergo a more thorough evaluation of his heel Monday, and the Tigers are classifying him as day-to-day for the time being.

Everson Pereira LF | STL
White Sox's Everson Pereira: Makes return from IL
The White Sox reinstated Pereira (concussion) from the 7-day injured list Monday.
Pereira will settle back in as a fourth or fifth outfielder for the White Sox, with Chicago optioning Junior Perez to Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding roster move. Though Pereira has spent time on the shelf this season due to a left ankle sprain, a right pectoral strain and a concussion, he's been an adequate performer when he's been available, slashing .232/.299/.420 with three home runs and one stolen base over 77 plate appearances. Now healthy again, the right-handed-hitting Pereira will likely see most of his opportunities against left-handed pitching.
