Saros (head) left Tuesday's contest versus the Hurricanes after the first period, Thomas Willis of the Predators' official site reports. Saros took a hit to the head during the first period but was able to get to the intermission. Pekka Rinne relieved Saros at the start of the second period. Prior to his exit, Saros gave up two goals on 10 shots. Per the Predators, he'll be reevaluated Wednesday, at which time an update could be provided.
Saros will guard the home net in Tuesday's game versus the Hurricanes, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. It appears Saros has played his way back into the No. 1 role after stopping 59 of 61 shots over back-to-back wins over the Blue Jackets last weekend. With another strong performance Tuesday, he could truly separate himself from Pekka Rinne. However, the Hurricanes are far tougher than the Blue Jackets, as they rank eighth in the league with 3.24 goals per game.
Saros stopped 28 shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets. The 25-year-old has mostly enjoyed his clashes with the Jackets this season, going 2-1-0 and giving up only four goals over three starts. Overall though, Saros has a shaky 3.00 GAA and .898 save percentage through 12 appearances this season.
Saros will protect the home net in Sunday's game versus the Blue Jackets, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Saros shut the Blue Jackets down in Saturday's 2-1 win, steering away 29 of 31 shots. The Predators will ride the hot hand, providing Saros his second start in as many days. Saros sports an .891 save percentage and a 4-5-0 record this year. The Blue Jackets enter Sunday's game on a cold streak, losing six of seven games and averaging 2.3 goals per game in that stretch.
Saros made 29 saves in a 2-1 win over Columbus on Saturday. He played a strong game -- the only puck that got past him came on a 2-on-0 after a turnover in the Preds' zone. Saros has scuffled this season and this win was his first in February, and just his second since Jan. 16. Pekka Rinne has been the man of the hour in the Nashville net this month, but Saros remains their future. Short-term, he remains a challenging activation because of playing time, but long-term, Saros is a solid fantasy man.
