  • Saros said he felt a pop when he injured his ankle versus the Flames on April 26, Adam Vingan of The Athletic reports. Saros also confirmed that he has returned to skating and likely would have been ready in a few weeks. The 27-year-old should have plenty of time to heal up ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, where he'll presumably serve as the Predators' top goalie again. He finished 2022-23 with a 38-25-3 record, a 2.64 GAA and a .918 save percentage in a career-high 67 games.

  • Saros (lower body) won't be available for Game 4 against the Avalanche on Monday, per coach John Hynes, Nick Cotsonika of NHL.com reports. The Predators have fallen into a 3-0 hole without their starting goaltender and won't have him available as they face elimination Monday. Barring a surprising victory by his team to keep the season going, Saros will have missed every playoff game after getting his team there with a 38-win regular season. Game 5 would be Wednesday if necessary.

  • Saros (lower body) won't be in the lineup for Saturday's Game 3 against the Avalanche, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. The Predators are already down 2-0 to Colorado in the series, so Saros may not have enough time to heal up and return to action before Nashville is eliminated. With Saros on the shelf and David Rittich struggling, Connor Ingram will get the start in goal Saturday against the Avalanche.

  • Saros (lower body) could be cleared to play for Game 3 or 4 versus the Avalanche back in Nashville, Adam Vingan of The Athletic reports. Saros is coming off a career year in which he set new highs in games (67) and wins (38). Without the 27-year-old Finn available, the Predators will look to Connor Ingram for Game 2 in Colorado. Whenever cleared to play, Saros should immediately reclaim his place between the pipes.

  • Saros (lower body) will be out for at least the first two games of the first-round series against Colorado, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. With Saros out, David Rittich will most likely start the first two games of the series. The 27-year-old is traveling with the team, which is a good sign, but it's unclear how much more time he's expected to miss. He finished the regular season with a .918 save percentage compared to Rittich's .886 mark.
