Chiefs cornerback Phillip Gaines suffered a torn ACL in Week 3 that will land him on IR, The Kansas City Star reports.
Taking Gaines' spot on the Chiefs' roster will be fellow cornerback Sean Smith, who is in line to be activated after having completed a three-game suspension to start the season.
