Following a 10-game slate on Saturday, there is only one game to comprise the NFL DFS player pool on Sunday. The 2023 NFL preseason schedule concludes when the New Orleans Saints host the Houston Texans at 8 p.m. ET. New Orleans has scored 48 points through the first two weeks of the preseason, but its rushing attack has not been beneficial to NFL DFS lineups. The top four running backs for the Saints have all averaged less than 3.2 yards per carry in the first two games. Ellis Merriweather and Kendre Miller have seen the bulk of the carries for New Orleans, with each of them racking up 14 attempts.

Does that volume make them profitable players to include in your NFL DFS strategy? Before locking in any preseason NFL DFS picks for Texans vs. Saints on Sunday, be sure to check out the NFL DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy football picks from SportsLine's Jacob Gibbs.

Gibbs uses a data-driven approach that has helped him consistently provide accurate rankings at every position. He has proven to be one of the nation's most accurate Fantasy rankers in recent years -- posting the eighth-most accurate results over the past three seasons, according to Fantasy Pros.

Gibbs analyzes each incoming rookie class in detail and is familiar with the entirety of each NFL team's offensive depth chart. He also closely monitored training camp reports this summer and has a good feel for which players are poised for a strong preseason performance. If there's anybody who can give you an edge in preseason NFL DFS, it's him.

Now, Gibbs has turned his attention to the Week 3 NFL preseason finale of Texans vs. Saints and locked in his top daily Fantasy football picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NFL DFS picks for preseason Week 3 on Sunday

For Sunday's NFL preseason action, one of Gibbs' top picks is Saints quarterback Jake Haener. The rookie from Fresno State has split time with Jameis Winston during the preseason, with both quarterbacks attempting 34 passes. Haener got off to a slow start in his preseason debut, throwing three straight incompletions on his first two offensive series, including an interception.

He bounced back with a seven-play, 76-yard drive that ended with a touchdown pass to running back Ellis Merriweather. Haener added a quality outing against the Chargers last week, completing 11 of 17 passes for 118 yards and zero interceptions. The rookie should get plenty of opportunities in the second half on Sunday night, and Gibbs is expecting another quality showing.

Gibbs' optimal NFL DFS strategy also includes stacking Haener with wide receiver A.T. Perry. The sixth-round draft pick played the second-most offensive snaps of any New Orleans wide receiver in the team's preseason opener against Kansas City, catching all six of his targets for 70 yards and a touchdown. He immediately established a connection with quarterback Jameis Winston and starting quarterback Derek Carr called Perry a "featured" piece of the game plan.

Perry added three receptions on five targets in a win over the Chargers last week. He is still fighting for a spot on the Saints depth chart and has one more chance to make a statement to the coaching staff. If his previous volume says anything about what is to come on Sunday, Perry is a quality addition to NFL DFS lineups. See who else to include in your NFL DFS lineups here.
