Top Jack Bech News

  • Raiders' Jack Bech: Fills in as WR2

Bech caught two of three targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 23-21 loss to the Texans.

Bech filled the WR2 role behind Tre Tucker after Tyler Lockett exited Sunday's contest early with a wrist injury, and Bech could see a similarly increased level of involvement against the Giants in Week 17 if Lockett remains sidelined. Bech has caught at least two passes in four consecutive games, but he's yet to find the end zone as a rookie.

  • Raiders' Jack Bech: Two catches in shutout loss

Bech brought in two of three targets for 17 yards in the Raiders' 31-0 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.

Despite his very modest numbers, Bech was more involved than Tre Tucker, who failed to come up with any of his three targets. Bech also finished with just 11 fewer yards than team leader Brock Bowers, as spot starter Kenny Pickett averaged just 2.6 yards per attempt while throwing for 64 yards. Bech could be due for a boost in opportunity in a Week 16 road matchup against the Texans next Sunday if Geno Smith can return from his shoulder injury and/or Tyler Lockett isn't able to suit up due to the wrist injury that he suffered in the second half of Sunday's loss.

  • Raiders' Jack Bech: Steps up as expected

Bech recorded six receptions on six targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Broncos.

Bech was expected to see an expanded role due to Dont'e Thornton (concussion) being sidelined. He went on to lead the team in targets, though they all came in the final 18 minutes of game time, with four of his targets coming from Kenny Pickett. While this was Bech's most productive game of his rookie season, he's difficult to trust given the state of quarterback play in Las Vegas and the potential for Thornton's return in Week 15 against the Eagles.

  • Raiders' Jack Bech: Chance to step up

Head coach Pete Carroll said Bech will have the chance to earn an increased role in Sunday's game against the Broncos due to the absence of Dont'e Thornton (concussion), Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com reports.

Bech has had a quiet rookie season, logging only 192 offensive snaps and 15 targets across 12 games. However, with both Thornton and Alex Bachman (thumb) ruled out, the Raiders currently have only three healthy wide receivers heading into Sunday's divisional matchup. Bech should log his highest snap count of the season, though that's no guarantee of production given the state of the Raiders offense.

  • Raiders' Jack Bech: Targeted three times in loss

Bech caught two of three targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 31-14 loss to the Chargers.

Despite exiting the contest momentarily with a chest injury before returning in the third quarter, Bech still managed to log more offensive snaps (27) than both Tyler Lockett (25) and Dont'e Thornton (14) in the Raiders' first game since former offensive coordinator Chip Kelly's firing. Although he's in a tough matchup against the Broncos in Week 14, Bech will continue to battle for the WR2 role behind Tre Tucker.

  • Raiders' Jack Bech: Logs nine offensive snaps

Bech was not targeted in Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Browns.

Bech played just nine offensive snaps while fellow rookie Dont'e Thornton logged 30 behind Tre Tucker and Tyler Lockett. The Raiders subsequently fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly after falling to 2-9, but Bech isn't necessarily promised additional playing time moving forward, especially given Lockett's ties to coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Geno Smith from their time together in Seattle.

  • Raiders' Jack Bech: Makes 19-yard grab on MNF

Bech caught his lone target for 19 yards in Monday's 33-16 loss to the Cowboys.

Bech picked up a first down on his 19-yard reception in the first quarter of Monday's tilt, but he was relatively uninvolved thereafter, ultimately finishing the game with a 15 percent offensive snap share behind fellow receivers Tre Tucker, Tyler Lockett and Dont'e Thornton. Meanwhile, tight end Brock Bowers and running back Ashton Jeanty combined for 20 targets, further limiting Bech's opportunities within this struggling Raiders offense.

  • Raiders' Jack Bech: Serves as WR4 in Week 10

Bech was held without a catch on one target in Thursday's 10-7 loss to the Broncos.

Bech was a prime candidate to benefit from Jakobi Meyers' trade deadline departure to Jacksonville, but the rookie remained well behind Tre Tucker, Dont'e Thornton and Tyler Lockett in the pecking order at wide receiver, with Bech ultimately playing just 14 offensive snaps. A much friendlier matchup against the Cowboys looms on Monday Night Football in Week 11, but Bech's opportunities to make an impact may remain limited.
