Rowney (lower body) was designated Wednesday for injured reserve retroactive to Feb. 23, Elliott Teaford of The Orange County Register reports.
Rowney has played in all 19 of Anaheim's games this year, putting up six assists and 45 hits through 14:17 of average ice time. However, he's set to miss at least four consecutive games, as he won't be eligible to return until March 3 against the Blues.
Rowney was forced to miss Tuesday's practice due to a lower-body injury.
The specifics of the injury remain unclear, as the team failed to provide further updates on Rowney's status. Despite producing six assists this season, the 31-year-old has failed to earn a point in his past seven games. At this point, Rowney appears firmly questionable for Wednesday's matchup against Arizona.
Rowney posted an assist in Friday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Sharks.
Rowney set up Maxime Comtois for the game-tying goal at 11:33 of the third period. The 31-year-old Rowney continues to impress from a bottom-six role. He has six helpers, 30 hits, 15 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating in 12 contests. The Alberta native probably can't keep up this scoring pace, but he's worth a look in deeper formats as a highly physical winger playing above his usual level.
Rowney notched an assist, four hits and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Kings.
Rowney made a good pass to David Backes on the Ducks' second goal of the game, which stood as the game-winner. The 31-year-old Rowney now has five helpers, 29 hits, 15 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in 11 contests. He may have some appeal in deeper formats given his steady physical production and decent offense, but keep in mind that he's never exceeded 20 points in a season.
Rowney posted an assist, four hits and two blocked shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Avalanche.
Rowney has been unusually productive through six games, as he has already supplied four helpers. The 31-year-old has also been a physical presence with 19 hits and 12 blocked shots, which is more in line with his typical work. Most fantasy managers don't need to pay attention to Rowney, but he's worth a look in DFS and deeper season-long formats while he's producing on the scoresheet.
Rowney collected two assists and two shots to go with a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Wild.
The fourth-line right winger assisted on second-period goals by Nicolas Deslauriers and Cam Fowler to help the Ducks erase a 2-0 deficit. Rowney has three assists in his last two games, nice production from the bottom of the lineup for an Anaheim team starving for offense.
Rowney posted an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Monday's 1-0 win over the Wild.
Rowney had the secondary helper on Nicolas Deslauriers' lone tally of the contest. It was the first point of the year for Rowney, who finished 2019-20 with 19 points, 189 hits and 63 shots on goal. The 31-year-old forward isn't a big scoring threat overall, but four of his points last year came while shorthanded -- combined with his physicality, that could give him some value in the deepest formats.
Rowney concluded the 2019-20 campaign with 19 points in 71 games.
The second-year Duck and fourth-year NHLer failed to take the next step in his development this year, as he fell one point shy of 2018-19's 20 despite playing in nine additional games this season. Rowney didn't play a ton (12:49 on average, including just five seconds on the power play) or shoot much (63 SOG), either, so the only thing that should be keeping him in the fantasy conversation in deep leagues are his 189 hits.
Rowney notched two helpers and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Senators.
Rowney had the primary assist on both of Nicolas Deslauriers' first two goals in the contest. Their line with David Backes combined for seven points Tuesday. Rowney is up to 19 points through 70 games, just one point shy of his career high from last season. The 30-year-old winger has added 187 hits, 63 shots and a plus-5 rating.
Rowney netted a goal and added two hits in Friday's 2-1 win over the Maple Leafs.
Rowney's first-period tally gave him a career-high eight goals this year. The 30-year-old forward has 17 points, 185 hits and 62 shots on net through 68 contests this season. Outside of deep formats that reward physicality, there's little reason to be interested in Rowney's contributions.
Rowney picked up an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Avalanche.
Rowney set up Andrew Agozzino for the Ducks' first goal of the game. The assist gave Rowney 16 points through 67 contests this year. He's added 183 hits, 61 shots and a plus-3 rating. Wednesday was the 30-year-old's 200th career game -- he's served mostly as a physical, fourth-line presence during his time in the NHL.
Rowney posted a goal and six hits in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Blackhawks.
Rowney toils in the bottom six, mainly on the fourth line, and averages 12:43 per game, so it's not surprising that he'll struggle to achieve a new career high in points (21). However, the hard-nosed winger notched his seventh goal to tie the career best he set last year, and he's now surpassed 180 hits for the first time in his career.
Rowney scored a shorthanded goal on two shots, dished three hits and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Coyotes.
Rowney's goal came 23 seconds into a Nick Ritchie interference minor, and the tally proved to be a back-breaker for the Coyotes. The 30-year-old is up to 11 points (three shorthanded), 52 shots on goal and 145 hits through 50 appearances.
Rowney posted an assist and two hits in Friday's 4-3 win over the Golden Knights.
Rowney set up Devin Shore for the goal at 9:46 of the third period, which would end up being the game-winning tally after the Golden Knights' late rally. The helper snapped a nine-game point drought for Rowney, who now has nine points and 106 hits through 38 contests. If he can stay healthy, he could top the 20 points he had in 62 outings last year, as the fourth-liner provides a little depth scoring as well as grittiness.
Rowney scored a goal and added an assist in Monday's 4-2 win over the Kings.
Rowney set up Derek Grant in the first period before scoring a goal of his own in the second. Rowney's tally would stand as the game-winning goal. The 30-year-old is up to eight points, 83 hits and 32 shots on goal in 28 games this season.
Rowney managed an assist and a team-high four hits in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Sharks.
Rowney was a physical presence, as usual, throughout the game. He then got on the scoresheet by setting up Max Jones in the third period. Consistent offense has eluded Rowney this year -- he has only six points in 20 contests, but the 30-year-old has also dished 56 hits.
Rowney scored twice late in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Jets.
Rowney made sure the Jets would not come back in the contest, scoring twice in the last four minutes of regulation to seal the result. The 30-year-old has three goals in his last three games, giving him five points this year. Rowney's also added 39 hits in 14 appearances, which is much more his style of play.
Rowney scored a goal and dished two hits in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Avalanche.
Rowney's second tally of the year made it 2-0 in the first period, as he combined with fellow fourth-liner Derek Grant to produce the goal. The 30-year-old winger is up to three points and 30 hits in 12 games this year, so he's not likely to be of much interest to fantasy owners outside of deep formats.
Rowney netted a shorthanded goal in Friday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Rowney's first tally of the year made it 4-2 for the Ducks, which spelled the end of Petr Mrazek's night. The physical fourth-liner has two points and 21 hits through eight appearances, although Friday was the first time he wasn't credited with a hit this season. The 30-year-old had 20 points and 178 hits in 62 games in 2018-19, showing he could contribute some depth scoring.
Rowney registered an assist, three hits and two PIM in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Coyotes.
The gritty fourth-liner showed a little offense to start the year, setting up Cam Fowler's eventual game-winning goal in the second period. Rowney is safe for fantasy owners to look over, as he had only 20 points and 178 hits in 62 contests last season.
