The 2017 Final Four isn’t necessarily the one we expected, but the ticket demand in Phoenix still shows it’s going to be one of the hottest tickets around this weekend.
There’s no Kansas, no Villanova, no Duke and no Arizona -- which would have drawn up demand for sure, but currently the average prices are the second-highest since 2012, according to a report from TicketCity.
This year’s Final Four -- (1) Gonzaga vs. (7) South Carolina, and (1) North Carolina vs. (3) Oregon -- has an average price of $451.00 for the semifinals and $838.47 for the national championship game on Monday. Only the 2015 Final Four, with it’s blueblood power lineup of Kentucky, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Duke, was a pricier get-in for fans since 2012.
The most expensive sale on TicketCity so far for the semifinals on Saturday has been two tickets in Row Q for $4,875 each and the most expensive sale for the national championship game was four tickets at $11,500 each in Row D. And remember, since this year’s Final Four is held in University of Phoenix Stadium -- the home of the Arizona Cardinals -- for the first time, there’s no established expectation for what the sight lines will be for a basketball game in a football stadium.
