Murray has been promoted to the role of starting strong safety, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Murray is taking the starting safety job from Lonnie Johnson, who is moving back to cornerback. Murray, who started for the Texans in the first three weeks of the season, was on the field for 69 defensive snaps Week 9 against Miami and recorded an interception. The veteran safety will resume his starting role after struggling late in 2020 and to start this season.
