Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Walk rate up at Double-A
Jobe has walked nine batters and struck out eight while registering a 3.72 ERA and 1.97 WHIP in his last two starts for Double-A Erie.
It's a surprising stretch for Jobe, as he'd walked 11 batters over his previous nine starts (36 innings). The Tigers could maintain Jobe's rookie eligibility for 2025 (to try for a prospect promotion incentive draft pick) by waiting until at least Aug. 16 to promote him while keeping him under 50 innings. However, given that he's still at Double-A and coming off two of his worst starts of the season, there's a chance he's not up at all this season.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Rolling since return to Double-A
Jobe (hamstring) has posted an 0.56 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 21:6 K:BB in 16 innings over three starts with Double-A Erie since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list July 5.
Jobe missed just over two months of action at Double-A while recovering from a hamstring strain, but he's quickly returned to dominance upon rejoining the affiliate. He had perhaps his best outing yet Saturday against Birmingham, striking out five over six scoreless frames to lead off a combined no-hitter for Erie. From a performance standpoint, the 21-year-old right-hander certainly looks to be close to big-league ready, but with the Tigers sitting at 49-50 on the season and on the fringe of the AL wild-card race, it's uncertain if the organization will have much motivation to start his MLB service clock in 2024.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Ready for rehab start
Jobe (hamstring) will make a rehab start with High-A Michigan on Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Jobe has been sidelined since early May with a left hamstring strain but has progressed to the point that he is ready to test things out in a game setting. The top prospect will eventually return to Double-A Erie, where he held a 2.16 ERA and 24:10 K:BB in 16.2 innings prior to suffering the injury.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Completes side session
Jobe (hamstring) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
The side session represents the first noteworthy step in Jobe's recovery from a left hamstring strain, which he suffered May 1 during his fifth start of the season for Double-A Erie. The Tigers' top pitching prospect had gotten off to a hot start to the campaign prior to suffering the injury, compiling a 2.16 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 24:10 K:BB in 16.2 innings. Jobe is without a clear timeline to rejoin the Erie rotation, but assuming he remains free of setbacks as he continues the ramp-up process, a return from the 7-day injured list around mid-June could be feasible.

Jobe was placed on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Erie on Thursday with a left hamstring strain.
Jobe had to exit Wednesday's start with the injury and now will be forced to the sideline for a bit. The top prospect has put up a 2.16 ERA and 24:10 K:BB over 16.2 innings covering five starts this season with Erie. Jobe, 21, could push to debut with the Tigers this year, but he's facing workload limitations as he has yet to reach 80 innings in a professional season.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Exits start with apparent leg injury
Jobe was removed in the fourth inning of his start Wednesday with Double-A Erie due to an apparent left leg injury, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
According to Beck, Jobe was removed in the middle of an at-bat after he was spotted flexing his left leg and grabbing around his hamstring following a pitch. The Tigers should provide more details on the nature of his injury in the days to come. One of the organization's top pitching prospects, Jobe had posted a 2.63 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 19:9 K:BB in 13.2 innings over his first four starts prior to Wednesday.

The Tigers reassigned Jobe to minor-league camp Friday.
The move comes as no surprise, as Jobe was never a likely bet to make Detroit's Opening Day roster with just once appearance above High-A under his belt. However, the 21-year-old could make his MLB debut sometime in 2024 with a strong showing in the upper minors.

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Invited to big-league camp
The Tigers announced Wednesday that Jobe received an invitation to major-league spring training.
Fellow top prospects Jace Jung and Ty Madden, among others, will join Jobe in big-league camp. Jobe, 21, was dominant across four minor-league levels in 2023, posting a 2.81 ERA and 84:6 K:BB over 64 innings. The young right-hander has a relatively limited track record in pro ball in part due to injury, but he could push to debut in 2024 if things break right.
