  • Tigers' Freddy Pacheco: Back on mound at High-A

Pacheco (biceps) was reinstated from Triple-A Toledo's 7-day injured list Wednesday and assigned to High-A West Michigan. Pacheco missed the entire 2023 season and most of 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, then opened the current campaign on the shelf due to a right biceps strain. After making two rehab appearances in the rookie-level Florida Complex League earlier this month, Pacheco appears to be healthy again, but he looks like he'll stick around in the Midwest League for a bit before climbing to a higher level. He made his debut for West Michigan on Thursday, walking one batter in a scoreless inning of relief.

  • Tigers' Freddy Pacheco: Re-signs with Detroit

Pacheco (elbow) signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers last week, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports. Pacheco was non-tendered by the Tigers last month but is back on a minors deal as he continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery. The 25-year-old reliever has progressed to playing catch three times per week at 60 feet and is hopeful of being an option for Detroit at some point after the All-Star break.

Pacheco (elbow) was non-tendered by the Tigers on Friday. Pacheco, 25, will officially head to the open market after being designated for assignment this past Tuesday. • Tigers' Freddy Pacheco: Throws first bullpen session

Pacheco (elbow) was able to throw his first bullpen session Friday, and he is scheduled to throw another next week. Pacheco has been out for the entirety of the 2023 campaign while he recovers from his right elbow sprain. The right-hander will need to throw several more bullpens and he'll then need a rehab assignment, but there's a chance he's an option for the Detroit bullpen at some point in June.

  • Tigers' Freddy Pacheco: Placed on 60-day IL

Pacheco was placed on the 60-day injured list by the Tigers on Monday with a right elbow sprain, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports. Pacheco was dealing with an elbow injury when the Tigers claimed him off waivers from the Cardinals earlier this month and now he'll miss at least the first couple months of the season. The specifics on the 24-year-old's injury aren't clear at this time.

  • Tigers' Freddy Pacheco: Claimed off waivers by Detroit

Pacheco (elbow) was claimed off waivers by the Tigers on Tuesday and optioned to Triple-A Toledo. Pacheco had been placed on outright waivers by the Cardinals earlier this month as he recovered from a bit of elbow tightness. The 24-year-old right-hander posted an encouraging 3.05 ERA with 84 strikeouts in 62 innings last season between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis. Assuming good health, he could make his MLB debut out of Detroit's bullpen at some point in 2023.

  • Cardinals' Freddy Pacheco: Optioned to Triple-A

Pacheco (elbow) was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Saturday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. Pacheco has been slowed by arm trouble in the Grapefruit League, but was always unlikely to make the Cardinals' roster to open the season anyway. He'll provide depth for the St. Louis pitching staff in Triple-A.

  • Cardinals' Freddy Pacheco: Sent down by Cardinals

Pacheco was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Monday, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Pacheco made two relief appearances in the Grapefruit League this year and allowed a run on three hits and no walks while striking out one in two innings. However, he'll begin the 2022 campaign in Memphis after advancing to the Triple-A level late in 2021.
