Barrett posted 11 points (1-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 9-10 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 32 minutes during Friday's 96-92 loss to the Heat in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Barrett went just 1-of-10 from the floor, digging a hole for the Knicks, who were bundled out of the playoffs. It is certainly not the end the fans were hoping for, and looking ahead, Barrett's long-term role has to be re-visited. To this point in his career, he has shown no upside on the defensive end, while his scoring typically fluctuates from one game to the next. Should the Knicks hope to continue on their current trajectory, they may need a more reliable scoring threat than Barrett.... See More ... See Less

Knicks' RJ Barrett: Another 20-point outing in victory
Barrett chipped in 26 points (8-17 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one block over 38 minutes during Wednesday's 112-103 victory over Miami in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Barrett finished second on the team in scoring while falling three rebounds shy of a double-double in Wednesday's Game 5 win-or-go-home contest against Miami. Barrett has posted at least 20 points in four of five games in the second-round series.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Strong from deep to boost offense
Barrett closed Monday's 109-101 loss to the Heat in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with 24 points (9-16 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal across 35 minutes. Barrett was a spark from deep for New York in Monday's Game 4 loss, connecting on a team-high-tying mark from three while finishing as one of three Knicks with 20 or more points. Barrett has surpassed the 20-point mark in three of the four games this series.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Scores game-high 26 points
Barrett registered 26 points (10-20 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-8 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 40 minutes during Sunday's 108-101 loss to the Heat in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Barrett cobbled together a nice performance Sunday, not only leading all scorers with 26 points but also adding significant peripheral production. With Julius Randle (ankle) sidelined, Barrett took on more responsibility, although his efficiency from the stripe left a lot to be desired. Should Randle be unavailable for Game 2, Barrett would once again be forced to shoulder more of the scoring load.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Another efficient outing
Barrett provided 21 points (7-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal across 36 minutes during Wednesday's 106-95 win over the Cavaliers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Barrett continued his efficient play by scoring 21 points on 53.8 percent shooting. The point total lands the guard second on the Knicks in scoring, only trailing teammate Jalen Brunson (23 points). Not only is Barrett starting to score in bunches, but he has also shot better than 50 percent in each outing. The Knicks will hope that the 22-year-old guard can continue his efficient shooting and provide a much-needed offensive boost as they advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.... See More ... Knicks' RJ Barrett: Strong at the line in 26-point game
Barrett supplied 26 points (9-18 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 8-13 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one block in 37 minutes during Sunday's 102-93 win over the Cavaliers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Barrett connected on a team-high mark from the free throw line en route to finishing second on the Knicks in scoring while ending Game 4 as one of two players with 25 or more points. Barrett surpassed the 20-point mark for the first time this postseason, having scored at least 15 points in two straight outings.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Efficient from field Friday
Barrett finished with 19 points (8-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt), eight rebounds, three assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Friday's 99-79 victory over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Barrett delivered a strong performance in Game 3, missing just four of his 12 shots and ending just two boards away from recording a double-double as the Knicks raced to a 20-point win at home. The former Duke star bounced back from two subpar showings in the first two games of the series and will continue to be counted on if the Knicks are to move on in the postseason.... See More ... Knicks' RJ Barrett: Rough shooting in loss
Barrett contributed 14 points (4-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), three rebounds and one steal across 33 minutes during Tuesday's 107-90 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Barrett was woeful from the floor, something that is becoming all too common. At this point in his career, the Knicks would love to see signs of improvement when it comes to his efficiency. Sadly, this has not been the case. If they are to push the Cavaliers in the series, Barrett will likely need to do more than just fire up ill-advised shots.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Team-high 28 points in return
Barrett notched 28 points (11-25 FG, 0-9 3Pt, 6-9 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and one block in 36 minutes during Friday's 113-105 loss to the Pelicans. Barrett had a hard time getting going Friday after returning from a two-game absence due to an illness, knocking down just two of eight shots in the first quarter before entering the break with 13 points on 41.7 percent shooting from the field. The shooting guard dropped another 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting in the second half to lead the Knicks with 28 points on the night but also struggled tremendously with the three ball, going 0-of-9 from beyond the arc in the contest. Barrett is shooting just 37.9 percent from the field over his last five games, though he has grabbed seven boards in two straight to salvage some value.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Good to go
Barrett (illness) is available for Friday's game against the Pelicans, Steve Popper of Newsday reports. Barrett will return from a two-game absence due to an illness. It is the penultimate game of the regular-season, and the Knicks likely want to get him back in the swing of things before the playoffs commence.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Questionable Friday
Barrett (illness) is questionable for Friday's game against the Pelicans. Barrett has missed the last two games due to his illness, and it's unclear whether he'll be available for the Knicks' penultimate contest of the regular season. If he sits again, Immanuel Quickley will likely draw another start.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Out Wednesday
Barrett (illness) will remain on the sidelines for Wednesday's game in Indiana. Wednesday will mark the second straight game on the sidelines for Barrett due to this illness, and for now, he should be considered questionable for Friday's game in New Orleans. Immanuel Quickley should earn another start sans Barrett, and considering he put in 22 points, six rebounds, five assists, three triples and three steals across 37 minutes his last time out, he's someone worth targeting with a favorable matchup against the Pacers.... Knicks' RJ Barrett: Officially listed questionable
Barrett (illness) is questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Pacers. Despite earlier reports Tuesday that Barrett would be available for Wednesday's contest, his official status is still uncertain. If he's unable to suit up, Josh Hart will likely receive a significant increase in minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Will be available Wednesday
Barrett (illness) will be available for Wednesday's game against the Pacers, Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News reports. Barrett was sidelined for Sunday's win over Washington due to an illness, but he appears to have moved past the aliment and will return to action after missing only one contest. Over his last 15 appearances, the left-handed forward has averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 32.7 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Out Sunday
Barrett has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Wizards due to an illness. Barrett will be joining Julius Randle (ankle) on the sidelines for Sunday's game, so Jalen Brunson will be very busy on offense with Josh Hart and Obi Toppin being asked to step it up as well. Immanuel Quickley could be headed for a spot start, and if that's the case, he would make sense as a streamer.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Another solid effort
Barrett produced 19 points (6-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-9 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Monday's 137-115 victory over the Rockets. The fourth-year forward has maybe not developed into the player some anticipated when he was the third overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, but Barrett has still been a very consistent part of a playoff-bound Knicks roster this season. The 22-year-old has scored in double digits in 17 straight games, averaging 19.5 points, 4.4 boards, 2.8 assists and 1.3 threes while providing a solid complementary scoring option behind Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson (hand).... Knicks' RJ Barrett: Muted stat line in loss
Barrett had 10 points (3-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), two rebounds and three assists across 30 minutes during Thursday's 111-106 loss to Orlando. Barrett posted 26 points Wednesday against the Heat but wasn't very efficient from the field Thursday. He also committed five turnovers against the Magic, his worst mark since Feb. 27. The 22-year-old has been held under 15 points in just three of his 12 appearances this month, and he's averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 33.1 minutes per game in March.... Knicks' RJ Barrett: Puts up 26 points in loss
Barrett closed Wednesday's 127-120 loss to the Heat with 26 points (8-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds and five assists in 36 minutes. Barrett was limited to just 13 points in 27 minutes in Monday's loss to the Timberwolves, but he took back playing time Wednesday from Immanuel Quickley, who played just 19 minutes. Despite some unsteadiness with his playing time of late, Barrett is still averaging 21.5 points on 48.1 percent shooting from the field in 11 appearances on the month, but he's still struggling to connect from distance (26.8 percent) and is offering little production in the non-scoring categories (4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.4 blocks and 0.3 steals per contest).... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Mediocre in loss Monday
Barrett amassed 13 points (4-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds and three assists across 27 minutes during Monday's 140-134 loss to the Timberwolves. Barrett didn't provide much excitement in the loss, continuing an empty season. Despite averaging 19.8 points per game thus far, Barrett ranks well outside the top 250 in nine-category formats, highlighting just how unimpactful he is across the other major categories. At this point, he should be viewed as nothing more than a streaming consideration, at least in standard formats.... See More ... See Less -
Knicks' RJ Barrett: Excels with huge second half
Barrett amassed 30 points (12-27 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds and two assists in 38 minutes during Sunday's 112-108 victory over the Lakers. He scored 20 of his 30 points in the second half, effectively picking up the slack amid Jalen Brunson's (foot) absence. Barrett enjoyed a huge 44-point game back in late December, but he hasn't eclipsed 32 points in any of his subsequent 30 appearances. He's averaging a solid 19.1 points during that stretch, but poor efficiency (42.8 percent from the field, 72.4 percent from the free-throw line) and a lack of supporting statistics continues to drag down his overall fantasy value....
