A wide receiver with two Super Bowl rings, a quarterback who led his team to four straight NFC title games and the 2006 NFL MVP are three of the 94 players who have been nominated for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame for 2017.

Hines Ward, Donovan McNabb and LaDainian Tomlinson were all on the long list of nominees that was announced by the HOF on Wednesday. Those three, along with Jason Taylor, Brian Dawkins, Chad Johnson and Shaun Alexander, were the first-time eligible players who made the nomination list.

The list of 94 players also includes 10 finalists from 2016 who didn't make the cut for induction in August. Kurt Warner, Terrell Owens, Terrell Davis and Morten Anderson headline the list of former finalists.

The list of 2017 nominees will be trimmed down to 25 semifinalists in November, and then 15 finalists in January. Those 15 finalists will be considered for induction along with three other finalists who have already been named.

Former Seahawks safety Kenny Easley was named the Seniors Committee finalist in August, while Jerry Jones and former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue were named contributor finalists.

To be inducted in 2017, a finalist needs to receive at least 80 percent support from the 46-person selection committee, which will meet Feb. 4. The official Hall of Fame announcement will be made during a television special on Fox that will air the night before Super Bowl LI.

Under bylaws of the HOF, a minimum of four people have to be inducted each year, with a maximum of eight. Before you check out the list below, make sure to check out our prediction of who's going to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2017.
