Raiders' Anthony Averett: IR-bound again
Las Vegas placed Averett (toe) on its injured reserve list Tuesday ahead of Sunday's game versus the Chargers, Josh Dubow of The Associated Press reports.
Averett already missed four weeks early in the season with a thumb injury, and he'll now be required to miss at least the next four games as well. The 2020 fourth-rounder Amik Robertson will likely see a significantly higher share of snaps in Averett's absence.

Averett was placed on IR after breaking his right thumb during the Raiders' season opener, forcing him to sit out the last four weeks. Now, the 27-year-old has been designated to return at the earliest possible opportunity, opening up a 21-day window for him to practice and be restored to the active roster. Averett's first chance to play will come Sunday against the Texans.
