Colts' Riley Leonard: Slated for QB2 in Week 15
Leonard is expected to operate as the Colts' backup quarterback behind Philip Rivers against the Seahawks on Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Leonard appeared poised to take on starting duties for the rest of the season after Daniel Jones tore his Achilles during the Colts' Week 14 loss to the Jaguars. However, Indianapolis opted to sign Rivers to the practice squad Wednesday, and after he and Leonard split first-team reps during Week 15 prep, the Colts have opted to go with the 44-year-old quarterback who hasn't seen regular-season play since 2020. How Rivers plays Sunday will likely determine who remains at the helm for the Colts for the rest of the 2025 campaign.

Colts' Philip Rivers: Looks set to start at QB
Rivers will start for the Colts against the Seahawks on Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. He will be activated from the practice squad ahead of Saturday's game, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Following Daniel Jones' season-ending torn Achilles injury in Week 14, the Colts signed Rivers to the practice squad Wednesday, and the 44-year-old split first-team reps with rookie Riley Leonard during Week 15 prep. Per Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis, head coach Shane Steichen noted after Friday's practice that the team was "working through" a decision on who to start Sunday, and it seems the Colts will go with the veteran quarterback who last saw regular-season action in 2020 with Indianapolis, when he completed 68.0 percent of his passes for 4,169 yards, 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions across 16 games. The Colts need to activate Rivers from the practice squad. And while everything is trending toward Rivers getting the starting nod, including Rapoport's report, there hasn't been an official announcement from the team.

Colts' Tyquan Lewis: Questionable to face Seattle
Lewis (ankle) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Lewis was absent for the Colts' Week 14 loss, but he progressively increased his practice involvement ahead of Sunday's game against Seattle. He upgraded to a full session Friday but will remain questionable for the time being.

Colts' Braden Smith: Ruled out for Sunday
Smith (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Smith sustained a concussion in the Colts' Week 14 loss to the Jaguars and was unable to clear the league's five-step protocol in time for Sunday's contest. Jalen Travis will likely start at right tackle in Smith's place against a fearsome Seahawks defensive front.

Colts' Riley Leonard: No injury designation, starter TBD
Leonard (knee) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Seahawks after practicing fully this week.
While Leonard is healthy enough to be available this weekend, the Colts have yet to reveal their Week 15 starting QB plans, with veteran newcomer Philip Rivers also a candidate to get the nod, per JJ Stankevitz of the team's official site. On that subject, coach Shane Steichen noted Friday afternoon, "We're going to work through that right now. We literally just got off the practice field, but (Rivers) had a good week of work, and we'll have those discussions here in the next couple hours." In any case, in order for Rivers to be in uniform Sunday, the Colts will either need to elevate him to their active roster from the practice squad, or sign him to the 53-man roster by Saturday afternoon's transaction deadline.

Colts' Anthony Gould: Won't play Sunday
Gould (foot) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Seahawks.
Gould sustained a foot injury in the Week 14 loss to the Jaguars and didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, so it's no surprise that he won't play Sunday. The second-year pro from Oregon State has operated as Indianapolis' top return man this season, tallying 647 kick-return yards and 131 punt-return yards across 11 appearances. While he's sidelined in Week 15, expect Ameer Abdullah and Josh Downs to handle the Colts' kick- and punt-return duties, respectively.

Colts' Sauce Gardner: Won't return for Week 15
Gardner (calf) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Seahawks.
The fourth-year pro from Cincinnati didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday and is now in line to miss his second consecutive game due to a non-contact calf injury. While Gardner remains sidelined in Week 15, expect Mekhi Blackmon and Johnathan Edwards to operate as Indianapolis' top boundary cornerbacks.

Colts' DeForest Buckner: Won't return Sunday
Buckner (neck) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Seahawks, JJ Stankevitz of the Colts' official site reports.
The veteran defensive lineman returned to practice this week after missing the Colts' last four contests due to a neck injury, but it appears he's not ready for game action just yet. Through nine appearances this season, Buckner has tallied 42 total tackles, including 4.0 sacks, across 424 defensive snaps. While he remains on the injured reserve list Sunday, Neville Gallimore will likely start on Indianapolis' defensive line.

Colts' Philip Rivers: Week 15 starting QB TBD
Colts head coach Shane Steichen noted Friday that a decision on who will start at QB in Sunday's game against the Seahawks (between Rivers and Riley Leonard) has yet to be made, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.
"We're working through that," Steichen said Friday of the team's Week 15 QB plans. Per Stephen Holder of ESPN.com, Rivers has looked good and moved around well during practice, while Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis relays that Leonard took some starting reps this week. For his part, James Boyd of The Athletic believes that Rivers will get the nod, a notion put forth by Holder on Thursday. In any case, in order for Rivers to be available as either a starter or backup versus Seattle, he must first be elevated from the Colts' practice squad ahead of Saturday's deadline.
