  • Giants' Daniel Jones: Has chance to play this week

Jones (neck) said after Wednesday's practice that he has a chance to play Sunday against the Dolphins, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

While he didn't sound especially confident in his availability, Jones seems to be doing better than earlier reports suggested, now looking more day-to-day than week-to-week as he recovers from a strained neck. He took part in Wednesday's practice as a limited participant, with head coach Joe Judge saying he expects Jones to practice Thursday and Friday as well. If the 24-year-old quarterback ultimately can't play, Mike Glennon will get the start Sunday in Miami.

  • Giants' Daniel Jones: Expected to practice

Giants head coach Joe Judge said Wednesday that he expects Jones (neck) to participate in practice, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Per Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site, Judge also said he expects Jones to practice Thursday and Friday, and the coach isn't yet counting out the quarterback from playing Sunday in Miami. That said, Jones already has been labeled week-to-week due to a neck strain, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, making it more likely than not that the signal-caller misses his first game of the season. Mike Glennon will be available for a spot start if Jones indeed can't go, while the Giants also recently signed Jake Fromm off the Bills' practice squad to serve as a backup option.

  • Giants' Daniel Jones: Deemed week-to-week

Jones (neck) is considered week-to-week and unlikely to play Sunday at Miami, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Apparently, Jones strained his neck early on during the Giants' Week 12 win versus the Eagles. He proceeded to log all 58 offensive snaps on his way to 19-for-30 passing for 202 yards and one touchdown to go with nine rushes for 30 yards. The aforementioned injury now threatens his availability in the short term, with Mike Glennon in line to earn spot starts as long as Jones is sidelined.

  • Giants' Daniel Jones: Dealing with neck strain

Jones strained his neck during the Giants' Week 12 win against the Eagles, and his status is up in the air for Sunday's game at Miami, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Aside from Week 4, when he sustained a concussion, Jones has played 100 percent of the offensive snaps in each of the Giants' other 10 games this season. He managed to complete 19 of 30 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown while taking nine carries for 30 yards this past Sunday, but with an injury in tow he's poised to have some practice limitations this week. Wednesday's injury report will inform how Jones kicks off Week 13 prep.

  • Giants' Daniel Jones: Escapes with win

Jones completed 19 of 30 pass attempts for 202 yards and one touchdown while running for 30 yards on nine carries against Philadelphia on Sunday.

The Eagles kept Jones under a decent amount of pressure by hitting him five times despite his modest pass-attempt volume, but it still would have been nice to see the third-year quarterback produce a bit better than this. Jones and the Giants head to Miami to face the Dolphins in Week 13, and that matchup would be significantly more manageable if at least one of Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) or Kadarius Toney (quadriceps) could return from injury by then. The Dolphins blitz aggressively and big plays can be had as a result, but Jones will need to be alert and correctly identify the weak spots.
