  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Finishes season hot

Pageau had three goals in his last four games and ended the season with 18 goals and 39 points in 77 contests. Like many of the forwards for the Islanders, Pageau got off to a slow start, which hurt his overall line.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Clears protocols

Pageau returned to practice Tuesday after clearing the league's COVID-19 protocols, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Pageau figures to jump back into the lineup following his three-game stint on the shelf while in the NHL's protocols. After a slow start to the season, the veteran center has discovered his offensive game of last with six goals and two assists in his last nine contests. Still, despite his recent performance Pageau is unlikely to move into a top-six role, which will limit his opportunities to produce at a high level.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Lands in protocols

Pageau was placed on the COVID-19 list and will not play Thursday against the Rangers. Pageau will be absent from the lineup for the first time since Jan. 13. The veteran forward has 37 points through 74 games this season, including 22 over his last 29 appearances. The Islanders' next game is Saturday against Buffalo, but he'll need to clear protocols before he can get back on the ice.

Pageau scored a goal on four shots in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Stars. Pageau got the Islanders on the board at 11:47 of the first period. The 29-year-old had a four-point effort in his last game Sunday versus the Devils, and he stayed hot with the tally Tuesday. For the season, he's up to 14 goals, 34 points, 112 shots on net, 143 hits and a plus-2 rating through 67 contests.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Hat trick and then some Sunday

Pageau scored three goals, one on the power play, and added an assist in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Devils. The hat trick was the fourth of his career, as Pageau collected the Islanders' first three goals before helping set up Kyle Palmieri for the game-winner late in the third period. Pageau snapped a 13-game goal drought with the performance, and on the season he has a modest 13 goals and 33 points through 66 contests.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Goal disallowed

Pageau had what would've been his 11th goal of the season disallowed in a 4-1 loss to the Lightning on Sunday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Pageau has had another average season with just 10 goals and 28 points in 62 games. He had 26 goals for the Senators and Islanders during the 2019-20 season but has failed to crack the 20-goal mark any other time.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Six straight games without a goal

Pageau has gone six games without lighting the lamp for the Islanders. Pageau does have four assists during that span, so all has not been lost for the third-line center. Pageau also has a rating of plus-4 during those contests to improve his season-long rating to minus-2. Pageau is part of a deep center corps for the Islanders, but 10 goals in 58 games is probably less than they were hoping for when they signed him to a six-year, $30 million contract in February of 2020.

Pageau notched two assists and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-2 win over the Jets. Pageau helped out on both of Josh Bailey's goals in the game. Even with Mathew Barzal (lower body) back in action, Pageau maintained a second-line assignment. He's earned it, logging three goals and six helpers in his last eight outings. The 29-year-old is up to 24 points, 90 shots on net, 103 hits and a minus-3 rating in 53 contests this season.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Goal and assist in loss

Pageau scored a goal on two shots, dished an assist, went plus-2 and added a pair of hits in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Avalanche. Pageau's pair of points came in the second period as the Islanders staked out a 3-2 lead, though that was it for their offense. The 29-year-old is on a three-game point streak with two goals and two assists in that span. He's seeing a more significant role with Mathew Barzal (lower body) hurt. Pageau's at 19 points, 86 shots, 100 hits and a minus-6 rating in 48 contests this season.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Snags assist Sunday

Pageau recorded an assist, two hits and two PIM in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Ducks. Pageau saw a bit more responsibility Sunday with Mathew Barzal (lower body) out of the lineup. The 29-year-old Pageau set up Noah Dobson's first-period tally. With six points in his last 12 games, Pageau isn't exactly hot, but he's been solid in an all-situations role. The center has 17 points, 84 shots on net, 98 hits, 26 PIM and a minus-9 rating through 47 contests overall.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Two-point effort in loss

Pageau scored a goal and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Flames. The center is at 14 points (two on the power play), 69 shots on net, 84 hits and a minus-4 rating through 40 contests, mainly playing on the third line.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Contributes helper

Pageau recorded an assist and three hits in a 4-1 win over the Senators on Tuesday. Pageau had just one assist in the month of January, with no goals, so it's safe to say scoring has not been in the cards for the 29-year-old. Despite beginning the season with a bit of a flurry, Pageau finds himself below his scoring pace from the previous two seasons, with just 12 points in 36 games.

He'll likely play in Saturday's contest against Washington.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Not in lineup Thursday

Pageau won't play Thursday versus the Devils after the birth of his child earlier in the day. Pageau will spend time with his family, but he shouldn't be expected to miss much time. It's unclear if he'll be back for Saturday's scheduled contest against visiting Washington.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Heating up

Pageau has four goals and two assists in his last 10 games. On the season, Pageau only has five goals and 10 points in 27 games to go along with a rating of minus-5. The Islanders are hoping his recent play is a sign of things to come.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Warming up after cold start

Pageau scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-2 win over New Jersey. Pageau has flirted with fantasy relevance in the past, but like the rest of the Isles has really struggled this season. In his first 17 games, Pageau had four points. In his last five, he has five points, including three goals. He may have sneaky short-term value and will be overlooked by many because of his total stats.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Scores with man advantage

Pageau scored a power-play goal in Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Blackhawks. Pageau tied the game at 1-1 in the second period. He's gotten on the scoresheet in consecutive contests for the first time this season. The 29-year-old is up to two goals, four assists, 28 shots on net, 42 hits and a minus-2 rating through 19 games. He could offer some help with physicality and special-teams production if his positive work this weekend is the foundation of a larger surge.

  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Puts up shorthanded helper

Pageau recorded a shorthanded assist and four hits in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Red Wings. Pageau set up Cal Clutterbuck for the opening tally just 2:45 into the game. The 29-year-old Pageau has struggled on offense with only five points in 18 contests, though that's a product of the Islanders' poor offense. The Ontario native has added 27 shots on net, 41 hits and a minus-3 rating. He'll continue to fill in on the second line until Brock Nelson (lower body) can return.
