Draft Scouting Report
Jordan Clark is a small slot cornerback with short arms and good twitch, but lacks true explosiveness when redirecting, limiting his recovery speed. His play recognition and ability to quickly diagnose routes allow him to play faster than his timed speed, and he’s aggressive in undercutting underneath routes. However, his lack of length and limited mirroring ability hinder his effectiveness in press coverage, putting him behind most nickel corners.
In coverage, Clark struggles downfield and in zone, often finding himself in recovery mode after the first few yards. His ball skills aren't elite, though he competes at the catch point, and his small frame limits his ability to disrupt passes. He can occasionally lose track of his assignment in zone, drifting out of position. Against the run, Clark shows urgency, but his tackling reliability remains below average, although it improved in his final season. As an older prospect, he offers immediate slot ability, but his coverage limitations and lack of speed limit his upside at the next level.
