Angels GM Billy Eppler says Street has a lat strain and will not throw for 3-4 weeks, Pedro Moura of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The news is a huge blow to Street's chances of being ready for Opening Day, much less winning the closer job. He left Friday's Cactus League contest with apparent irritation and now faces a steep road to recovery. Street dealt with a variety of injuries last year before undergoing knee surgery during the offseason, definitive signs that the 33-year-old may be a risky pick in any draft format. Look for Cam Bedrosian (groin) and Andrew Bailey to compete for the closer role as spring camp continues.
