La Stella was placed on the 15-day DL on Thursday with a hamstring strain, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
La Stella has been a key reserve for the Cubs this season, hitting .291/.378/.494 with two home runs and seven RBI through 38 games. He will likely return to his role of pinch hitting and providing infield depth once he is back to full strength.
