Tate was shut down with shoulder soreness Monday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Tate had been throwing at the Orioles' complex in Sarasota but now appears to be done for the season. It's unclear if the injury is serious enough to have any effect on his readiness for next season's spring training.
