The New York Jets' busy week continued on Tuesday, as the team will sign former Seahawks cornerback D.J. Reed to a three-year, $33 million deal, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Reed was tabbed as the 37th best player in CBS Sports senior NFL writer Pete Prisco's list of the top 100 free agents. A role player in San Francisco, Reed earned a starting role during his two seasons with the Seahawks. During that span, the 5-foot-9, 193-pound defensive back recorded four interceptions and 17 pass breakups. The 25-year-old has also seen significant time on special teams during his four-year career.

Reed is the latest player the Jets have signed in free agency. They have also reportedly come to terms with former 49ers guard Laken Tomlinson, former Bengals tight C.J. Uzomah, running back Tevin Coleman and receiver/special teams ace Braxton Berrios

The Seahawks have also had a busy month. They recently traded longtime quarterback Russell Wilson in exchange for several draft picks and veteran players that include quarterback Drew Lock and tight end Noah Fant. Seattle also retained safety Quandre Diggs, defensive tackle Al Woods, defensive end Sidney Jones, and tight end Will Dissly

Both clubs are hoping to rebound following disappointing 2021 campaigns. The Jets went 4-13 under first-year head coach Robert Saleh while finishing under .500 for the sixth consecutive year. Seattle went 7-10 while enduring their first losing season since 2010.
