Top Quandre Diggs News

  • Seahawks' Quandre Diggs: Grabs first INT of season

Diggs recorded seven tackles (five solo), two pass breakups and one interception during Sunday's 28-21 win over the 49ers.

Diggs was active in coverage during Sunday's divisional matchup, as the only IDP-relevant stats he racked up during the first three weeks of the season were tackles. Though Jamal Adams is the more enticing fantasy asset in Seattle's safety group, both he and Diggs operate as every-down players on defense, so both possess a solid floor in terms of weekly tackles.

  • Seahawks' Quandre Diggs: Piles up 10 stops

Diggs posted 10 tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 33-30 loss to the Titans.

The Seahawks are certainly happy that Diggs didn't hold out, as the 28-year-old safety has 19 tackles (12 solo) through two games, out-pacing Jamal Adams. Diggs is a superb safety in coverage, and his run-stuffing abilities are impressive, so there's reason to believe he can keep up this IDP viability given the Seahawks' high-scoring game scripts.

  • Seahawks' Quandre Diggs: Will play Week 1

Diggs (contract dispute) said he will play in Sunday's game against the Colts, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Diggs missed an entire week of workouts in late August because he had a few things he wanted to "get cleared up...business-wise." Entering the final year of his contract, Diggs likely wanted an extension after seeing Jamal Adams receive a four-year, $70 million contract. The 28-year-old safety has been superb for the Seahawks, racking up 85 tackles, 13 pass breakups and eight interceptions over 21 games, so the team is fortunate that he's willing to play without long-term security.

  • Seahawks' Quandre Diggs: Leveraging for new contract

Diggs didn't practice Tuesday as he's unhappy with his contract situation, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Diggs is entering the final season of the three-year, $18.6 million contract he signed with the Lions before the 2018 season. Fellow safety Jamal Adams was in a similar situation to start training camp this year, and his holdout paid off to the tune of $70 million over four years, making him the highest paid safety in the league. Diggs has been nothing short of excellent since joining the Seahawks, as he's recorded 85 tackles, 13 pass breakups and eight interceptions over 21 games, but his next deal will be far less. If Diggs chooses to miss games, either Marquise Blair or Ugo Amadi will step into the free safety role.

  • Seahawks' Quandre Diggs: Named to first Pro Bowl

Diggs produced 64 tackles, 10 pass breakups and five interceptions over 16 regular-season games during the 2020 season.

Diggs was outstanding for the Seahawks this season, starting every game and posting career highs in both pass breakups and interceptions. The 27-year-old earned Pro Bowl honors for the first time in his career as a result. Diggs has one year remaining on his contract with the Seahawks. His role in 2021 may be slightly altered if the team doesn't re-sign Jamal Adams (shoulder/finger).

  • Seahawks' Quandre Diggs: Reels in fifth interception

Diggs posted six tackles (four solo), a pass breakup and an interception in Sunday's 20-9 win over the Rams.

Diggs has hauled in five interceptions through 15 games, as he sits fourth in the league in the category. The sixth-year pro has added 58 tackles and 10 pass breakups. As a result, he's been named to his first Pro Bowl, joining fellow safety Jamal Adams with the honors.

  • Seahawks' Quandre Diggs: Won't face suspension

Diggs avoided a suspension for his helmet-to-helmet hit on N'Keal Harry during Sunday's 35-30 win over the Patriots, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Diggs was ejected for the hit in the first quarter, and while he won't be suspended, the league will likely fine the safety for his actions. For the sake of the Seahawks' defense, it's encouraging that Diggs will be available in Week 3 versus the Cowboys since S Marquise Blair (knee) could miss time.
