  • Patriots' Alijah Vera-Tucker: Placed on IR

Vera-Tucker (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve by the Patriots on Thursday.

Vera-Tucker suffered a hamstring injury in the team's Week 6 win over the Jets, and he will now be forced to miss at least four contests while recovering. In his absence, Walter Rouse will take over as the team's starting left tackle Thursday night versus the Bears.

  • Patriots' Alijah Vera-Tucker: Won't play against Chicago

Vera-Tucker (hamstring) has been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Bears.

Vera-Tucker suffered a hamstring injury during the Patriots' 26-19 win over the Jets on Sunday. He was unable to practice during the Patriots' short week, and in his absence, Walter Rouse will likely take over as the starting left guard for New England. Vera-Tucker's next opportunity to play is Week 8 against the Dolphins on Sunday, Nov. 1.

  • Patriots' Alijah Vera-Tucker: Probably won't be available Thursday

Coach Mike Vrabel said Tuesday that Vera-Tucker (hamstring) is unlikely to be available for Thursday's game at Chicago, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Vrabel did not rule Vera-Tucker out completely, but it looks like he's likely in line to sit out his first game of the 2026 season due to the hamstring injury he suffered during Sunday's game versus the Jets. Regular starting right guard Ben Brown (knee) is also looking like a bad bet to suit up in Week 7, and if both he and Vera-Tucker are sidelined, 2024 sixth-rounder Walter Rouse and veteran Matt Pryor would project as the Patriots' starting guards for Thursday.

  • Patriots' Alijah Vera-Tucker: Won't return Sunday

Vera-Tucker (hamstring) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jets.

Vera-Tucker sustained a hamstring injury in the second quarter of Sunday's contest. The left guard's absence has shifted the Patriots' offensive line around, leaving Ben Brown at left guard and Matt Pryor at right guard.

  • Patriots' Alijah Vera-Tucker: Questionable with hamstring injury

Vera-Tucker (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Jets.

Vera-Tucker exited the second quarter of Sunday's game with a hamstring injury. Ben Brown switched to left guard so Matt Pryor could come into the game at right guard to replace Vera-Tucker.

  • Patriots' Alijah Vera-Tucker: Participating in offseason program

Vera-Tucker (triceps) is participating in organized team activities, Darren Hartwell and Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston report.

Though he's not yet participating in 11-on-11 drills, Vera-Tucker has been good to go for "half-speed periods or periods with no defense," per Perry. The offensive guard missed the entire 2025 campaign with a torn triceps and has played in just 43 regular-season contests since being drafted in the first round by the Jets in 2021.

  • Patriots' Alijah Vera-Tucker: Remains on track for OTAs

Vera-Tucker (triceps) is expected to take part in the Patriots' upcoming OTAs, Mark Daniels of MassLive.com reports.

New England's OTAs are scheduled to begin in late May, and Vera-Tucker looks like he'll be ready to participate. The offensive guard missed all of last season due to a torn triceps and has played in only 43 regular-season contests (out of a possible 85) across his five NFL campaigns. Vera-Tucker signed a three-year contract with New England in early March and is "highly motivated" to prove himself following his injury struggles, per Daniels.

  • Patriots' Alijah Vera-Tucker: Anticipates clearance for OTAs

Vera-Tucker (triceps) told reporters Thursday that he anticipates being fully cleared for the start of OTAs, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Vera-Tucker added that he plans on being a full participant in the Patriots' voluntary offseason program, which begins Apr. 20. The USC product signed a three-year, $42 million deal with New England on Mar. 9 after spending the first four seasons of his career with the Jets. Once Vera-Tucker returns to full health, he's expected to operate as the Patriots' top left guard during the 2026 season.
