Dolphins' Malik Washington: Snags short TD in loss to Pats
Washington caught five of six targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-19 loss to New England.
The five grabs led the team on the afternoon, and Washington capped his performance with a one-yard TD from Malik Willis just before halftime. It was Washington's first score of the season in seven games, and he'll take a 31-329-1 line on 45 targets into a Week 9 meeting with the Lions.

Dolphins' Kevin Coleman: Finds paydirt in loss
Coleman caught all three of his targets for 46 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Patriots.
Coleman led the team in receiving yards while reeling in multiple passes for the second time this season. The wide receiver's biggest moment of the game came in the fourth quarter when he connected with quarterback Malik Willis for a 35-yard score with 2:04 remaining in regulation. Coleman hasn't been a consistent part of the team's offensive approach this season, catching eight of 21 targets for 82 yards and two scores over seven contests so far.

Dolphins' Ollie Gordon: Leading rusher in Week 8 loss
Gordon carried the ball 19 times for 69 yards in Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Patriots. He failed to catch his only target.
For the first time since De'Von Achane (knee) went down in Week 3 and Gordon became Miami's lead back, the second-year player was held out of the end zone. Over the last four games, Gordon has amassed 360 rushing yards and three TDs on 71 totes (5.1 yards per carry), but he's added exactly zero receiving yards to his totals. Gordon will try to begin a new TD streak in Week 9 against the Lions.

Dolphins' Malik Willis: Tosses two TDs in loss to Pats
Willis completed 21 of 32 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 24-19 loss to New England. He gained two rushing yards on his only carry.
The 27-year-old QB hit Malik Washington for a one-yard score just before halftime to give the Dolphins a 13-3 lead, but Willis' 35-yard strike to Kevin Coleman late in the fourth quarter was too little, too late after the Patriots dominated the second half. After throwing just one touchdown over the first four games of the season, Willis has a 5:3 TD:INT in the last three contests while also adding two scores on the ground. He'll likely need to be even more productive in Week 9 as he attempts to keep pace with Jared Goff and the Lions.

Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Four grabs in defeat
Douglas caught four of six targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Patriots.
In his second game back from a multi-week high-ankle sprain, Douglas led the team with 31 routes on Malik Willis' 36 dropbacks against New England. The rookie wideout's six targets tied Greg Dulcich and Malik Washington for the team lead on a day Willis targeted nine different pass catchers. Through four games this season, Douglas has 13 grabs for 226 yards and two touchdowns on 19 targets. He's a low-volume big-play threat on the outside for Miami, but Douglas will be in the mix as a streamer for next Sunday's date with a leaky Lions secondary.

Dolphins' Greg Dulcich: Four grabs in Week 8 loss
Dulcich caught four of six targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Patriots.
Dulcich has yet to score a touchdown this season, but the tight end is settling in as one of Malik Willis' favorite targets. He has at least four catches in four of his last five games but has reached 50 receiving yards in just two of seven contests. Dulcich is in the large bucket of low-floor, low-ceiling TE2 options in fantasy, but he does get a plus Week 9 draw against the Lions.

Dolphins' Malik Herring: Suffers stinger Sunday
Herring (neck) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against New England.
Herring suffered a stinger during the first half, and his status for the remainder of the game is now uncertain. In his absence, Rodney McGraw could stand to see an increase in opportunities at defensive end.

Dolphins' Reese Taylor: Good to go against New England
Taylor (quadriceps) is active against the Patriots on Sunday.
Taylor has been cleared to return from a two-game absence due to a quadriceps injury. He gives the Dolphins more depth in the secondary and another contributor on special teams.

Dolphins' Jared Wayne: Healthy scratch in Week 8
Wayne (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Patriots.
Wayne was limited in Wednesday and Thursday's practice sessions. He was a full participant Friday and didn't carry an injury designation for the Week 8 meeting with New England. However, despite being healthy enough to suit up, the wideout won't be on the field Sunday.

Dolphins' JuJu Brents: Available in Week 8
Brents (neck/concussion) is active for Sunday's game against New England.
Brents was in danger of missing this contest due to multiple injuries. However, he will shed the questionable tag and suit up for the AFC East clash with the Patriots.

Dolphins' Zane Gonzalez: Kicking for Miami in Week 8
The Dolphins elevated Gonzalez from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Gonzalez has been promoted to the 53-man roster for a second consecutive week and will once again serve as the Dolphins' kicker. He made all four of his extra-point tries in Week 7 against the Jets but did not attempt a field goal in that context.
