Dodgers' Trayce Thompson: Will have everyday role after Puig returns

Thompson will have an everyday role even after Yasiel Puig (hamstring) returns from the DL according to manager Dave Roberts, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Considering Thompson only made the Dodgers out of spring training because of Andre Ethier's leg injury, it's an impressive accomplishment for the 25-year-old to seize an everyday role. Left field has been a mess for the Dodgers, with the five players who've received starts there hitting a combined .220/.284/.361. Thompson probably isn't OPSing .900 forever, but he just needs to be an average bat to be valuable at the position for the Dodgers.
