Padres' Blake Snell: Officially placed on injured list

Snell (groin) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to April 11.

Snell has said his left adductor tightness is "way more minor" than the issue he dealt with in 2021, but he'll still be forced to miss at least one turn through the rotation. He'll be eligible to return as early as April 22 since the move was backdated to Monday, but a timetable for his return isn't yet clear. Left-hander MacKenzie Gore was called up to take his place in the rotation and is scheduled for his big-league debut Friday versus Atlanta.
