As the Bruins' training camp opened up, Forsbacka-Karlsson was centering a line with Frank Vatrano and David Backes, CSN New England's Joe Haggerty reports.
Per Haggerty, it's "an audition of sorts" for the (Bruins') third-line center assignment, a role that holdover Ryan Spooner is also a candidate to claim. Forsbacka-Karlsson is destined to see time with the big club this season, but there's a solid chance that he'll spend some time at the AHL level out of the gate. Of course, an injury to either Spooner, Patrice Bergeron or David Krejci could expedite Forsbacka-Karlsson's ascent to the NHL, but either way, the 20-year-old Boston University product profiles as a heady two-way pivot, having drawn comparisons to Bergeron.
