  • Flames' Ethan Wyttenbach: Starts season on high note

Wyttenbach scored twice and added an assist in Quinnipiac University's 10-2 win over the University of New Hampshire on Friday.

Wyttenbach was the top freshman in 2025-26, and his sophomore campaign is off to a strong start. The 19-year-old had 59 points in 40 games for Quinnipiac last year. If he thrives again this season, he could opt to sign an entry-level deal and turn pro for 2027-28.

With Quinnipiac University, Wyttenbach led the NCAA in points this season, earning 25 goals and 34 assists over 40 appearances. The Flames prospect has already committed to returning to Quinnipiac for his sophomore year, where he'll look to duplicate his impressive campaign.

  • Flames' Ethan Wyttenbach: Staying in college

Wyttenbach will return to Quinnipiac for his sophomore season in 2026-27, the team announced Wednesday.

Wyttenbach had a phenomenal freshman campaign in which he racked up 25 goals and 34 assists in 40 games for the Bobcats, leading the team in both categories. If he produces anywhere near that level in 2026-27, he almost certainly won't be back for a third year. Calgary selected the 19-year-old forward with the 144th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
