Wyttenbach was named the Tim Taylor Award winner Friday as the NCAA's top freshman for 2025-26, Scott Wheeler of The Athletic
With Quinnipiac University, Wyttenbach led the NCAA in points this season, earning 25 goals and 34 assists over 40 appearances. The Flames prospect has already committed to returning to Quinnipiac for his sophomore year, where he'll look to duplicate his impressive campaign.

Flames' Ethan Wyttenbach: Staying in college
Wyttenbach will return to Quinnipiac for his sophomore season in 2026-27, the team announced Wednesday.
Wyttenbach had a phenomenal freshman campaign in which he racked up 25 goals and 34 assists in 40 games for the Bobcats, leading the team in both categories. If he produces anywhere near that level in 2026-27, he almost certainly won't be back for a third year. Calgary selected the 19-year-old forward with the 144th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
