Hicks isn't in the Angels' lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Hicks will take a seat for the Angels' home opener after going 3-for-12 with a homer, three RBI and three runs scored during Los Angeles' previous series versus Miami. Miguel Sano will enter the lineup as the DH and bat sixth.
