The Marlins sent Davis (knee) outright to Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Davis has been out since early July after undergoing surgery on his right knee. The 31-year-old resumed running toward the end of the season, but he is now set to return to the minors and will have to earn his way back onto Miami's 40-man roster in 2024.
