The Pirates have won the last four meetings with the Mets, with the last three going over. The Bucs have a couple of new offensive players on the team this year, with Ryan O'Hearn, Marcell Ozuna, and Brandon Lowe. Let's make every Skenes start count while he's still in Pittsburgh.     Analysis

    Big number outside of Coors Field and I guess Sacramento for a F5 total. The Thursday game total is set at either 8.5 or 9, so this should be 4.5 in my mind and is at many of our books. The winds will be blowing out some at Wrigley, but it also may rain. Cubs pitcher Matt Boyd was lights out at Wrigley in 2025 with a 2.51 ERA and had that exact same ERA in two starts overall vs. Washington. The Cubbies are down one big bat with Seiya Suzuki opening on the IL. The Nats were a bottom-third offense in 2025 and should be again. Note that the teams are then off Friday so we should see plenty of relievers Thursday.

    Analysis

    I'm jumping on the Orioles early with Trevor Rogers scheduled for Opening Day. I think this closes around -180. If Rogers pitches like he did last season, getting him -162 at home will be a distant memory. I also think the O's rebound in a big way this season, while I have the Twins rated as one of the worst teams in the AL. A little Opening Day value on Baltimore.

    Analysis

    Last year, Trevor Rogers was 4-1 with a 0.96 ERA at Camden Yards, having allowed only five earned runs in 47.0 innings pitched. He opens 2026 against one of the worst teams in the league, with the Orioles having added some major pop to the lineup with Pete Alonso and Taylor Ward. I think Baltimore cruises to a home victory and covers the run line for us with relative ease on Opening Day.

    Analysis

    Nick Pivetta is someone I'm looking to fade on the road this season but still like him at home in a pitcher friendly park early in the year. Toss in Tarik Skubal on the other side and San Diego still sporting one of MLB's better bullpens, and I think we get under seven runs in the opener.
