Justin Williams, a four-star running back from East Paulding High School in Dallas, Georgia, announced his commitment to Tennessee live Wednesday morning to kick off National Signing Day on CBS Sports HQ. Williams chose the Volunteers over Auburn, Louisville, Nebraska and West Virginia

Heading into the announcement, the 247Sports Crystal Ball had given a healthy edge to Tennessee, and Williams chose to join coach Josh Heupel's blossoming program in Knoxville.

Williams is ranked No. 284 overall in the 247Sports Composite and the 24th-ranked running back in the 2022 recruiting class. In addition, Williams is the 26th-ranked player in the state of Georgia, which has historically produced some of college football's biggest stars.

Williams is the 18th player to commit to the Volunteers during the current recruiting cycle. This class features six four-star players and is ranked No. 23 in the nation. Williams' pledge keeps Tennessee's positive momentum from the 2021 season trending in the right direction.

Tennessee is coming off a strong first season under Heupel in which the Volunteers put together a 7-5 record. In addition, Tennessee will face Purdue in the Music City Bowl later this month, which marks the school's first bowl game since 2019.
