Orion Kerkering PHI RP
Phillies' Orion Kerkering: Expected to return Tuesday
3m agoKerkering (hamstring) has rejoined the team and is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Giants, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Kerkering joined the club in San Francisco earlier in the day Monday, but he'll need to wait one more day before being brought off the 15-day IL. He recently pitched on back-to-back days for Triple-A Lehigh Valley and made his final rehab appearance Saturday, where he struck out two and gave up one hit in a scoreless frame against Triple-A Durham.
-
Joe Ross ARI RP
Joe Ross: Will test free agency
8m agoRoss elected free agency Monday.
Ross was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Friday, and rather than accept an assignment with Triple-A Reno, he'll search for an opportunity elsewhere. He surrendered eight runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out two over 3.2 frames in three appearances for Arizona before he was DFA'd.
-
Austin Hays CHW LF
White Sox's Austin Hays: Departs early Monday
43m agoHays was lifted from Monday's game against the Orioles due to a right hamstring strain.
Hays pulled up early on an attempt to chase down a ball hit down the line in the top of the fourth inning, and he was forced to exit immediately after the play. The White Sox are calling the injury a right hamstring strain, and he'll be sent for further evaluation to determine if a trip to the injured list is warranted.
-
Gabriel Arias CLE SS
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Nursing hamstring issue
1h agoArias was removed from Monday's game against Kansas City due to left hamstring tightness, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
It's unclear at this time whether Arias will require a stint on the injured list. The Guardians will presumably send their starting shortstop for further testing before providing an update on his availability for Tuesday and beyond.
-
Noble Meyer MIA SP
Marlins' Noble Meyer: Suffers shoulder strain
1h agoMeyer has a shoulder strain and will be out 12-to-16 weeks, the Marlins' television broadcast reports.
Meyer was the Marlins' first-round pick in 2023, but his career has failed to launch so far. He was able to pitch 65.1 innings last year at High-A Beloit, posting a 4.41 ERA and 1.40 WHIP. He's posted high strikeout and high walk rates throughout his professional career.
-
Thomas White MIA SP
Marlins' Thomas White: Another rehab start on tap
1h agoWhite (oblique) will make his second rehab assignment for Single-A Jupiter on Wednesday, the Marlins' television broadcast reports.
White made it through 2.1 innings in his first outing, allowing two runs on two hits and a walk while striking out four. He'll ultimately end up at Triple-A Jacksonville once he's up to speed.
-
Dillon Dingler DET C
Tigers' Dillon Dingler: Receiving rest Monday
3h agoDingler is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Dingler will receive a routine day off Monday after starting behind the dish in each of the Tigers' last four games. Jake Rogers will handle catching duties in the series opener in Minnesota.
-
Samuel Basallo BAL C
Orioles' Samuel Basallo: Sitting after four-strikeout game
4h agoBasallo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.
After an 0-for-4, four-strikeout performance in Sunday's 8-2 loss to the Pirates dropped his season average to .148, Basallo will get Monday off to clear his head. Adley Rutschman will draw the start at catcher and Ryan Mountcastle will serve as the Orioles' designated hitter in the series opener in Chicago.
-
Keibert Ruiz WAS C
Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Hitting bench Monday
4h agoRuiz is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.
Ruiz and Drew Millas have split time behind the dish evenly through the Nationals' first five games, with both catchers drawing five starts apiece. Though Ruiz has been the better producer thus far, he's still holding down a modest .222/.211/.444 slash line through his first 19 plate appearances. He may need to raise his performance before taking on a larger share of the catching duties.
-
Will Smith LAD C
Dodgers' Will Smith: Not in Monday's lineup
4h agoSmith is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.
Smith will hit the bench for a second straight game, with Dalton Rushing working behind home plate and batting eighth. The decision to hold Smith out is a deliberate one, with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts noting Monday that he wants Smith to be the catcher for Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani for Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Smith has gone 8-for-29 (.276 average) with two home runs and five RBI to open the season.
-
Alejandro Kirk TOR C
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Undergoing thumb surgery Tuesday
5h agoKirk will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair his fractured left thumb, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Kirk landed on the 10-day injured list this past weekend after being diagnosed with a fracture, and a visit with Dr. Thomas Graham on Monday led to a recommendation of surgery. That Kirk needed an operation to fix the fracture could lead to a longer absence, but more will be known regarding a timetable after Tuesday's surgery.
-
Ryan Jeffers MIN C
Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Getting breather Monday
5h agoJeffers is not in the lineup for Monday's tilt against the Tigers.
Victor Caratini will be behind the dish in Monday's series opener. Jeffers is off to a slow start offensively this season, going 4-for-24 without an RBI across his first seven contests. He'll get a day to regroup and should be back in the lineup Tuesday.
-
Nolan Schanuel LAA 1B
Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Sitting out against Sale
4h agoSchanuel is not in the lineup for Monday's tilt versus Atlanta, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Ace left-hander Chris Sale is on the bump for Atlanta, so the lefty-swinging Schanuel will get a breather. Switch hitter Jeimer Candelario is filling in at first base and will bat cleanup for the Angels.
-
Kody Clemens MIN 1B
Twins' Kody Clemens: Out of lineup versus righty
5h agoClemens is absent from the lineup for Monday's tilt versus the Tigers.
It's the first time in five games against right-handed pitching this season that Clemens is not in the starting lineup. Josh Bell will handle first base, Byron Buxton will be the designated hitter and James Outman will grab a start in center field for the Twins.
-
Nick Loftin KC 1B
Royals' Nick Loftin: Sent back to Omaha
9h agoThe Royals optioned Loftin to Triple-A Omaha on Monday.
Loftin will cede his spot on the 26-man active roster to Michael Massey (calf), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. The 27-year-old utility player had appeared in four of the Royals' first nine games, going 2-for-9 with a double, two walks and three runs.
-
Pete Alonso BAL 1B
Orioles' Pete Alonso: Lacking in XBHs early on
12h agoAlonso went 1-for-4 with an RBI double Sunday in the Orioles' 8-2 loss to the PIrates.
After leaving the Mets over the winter and joining the Orioles on a five-year, $155 million deal, Alonso has gotten off to a slow start to his time in Baltimore. The veteran first baseman has struck out at a career-worst 33.3 percent clip through his first nine games, which has played a large part in limiting the career .253 hitter to a .229 batting average thus far. The low average would be more palatable if Alonso were hitting for power, but his double in Sunday's game was just his second extra-base hit of the campaign. Alonso's average exit velocity and hard-hit rate place him in the 93rd and 90th percentile, respectively, of all players in the early going, so fantasy managers should have some hope that the five-time All-Star eventually turns things around.
-
Jared Young NYM 1B
Mets' Jared Young: Three hits in win Sunday
22h agoYoung went 3-for-3 with a double in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Giants.
It was Young's fourth start of the season, and he figures to get regular at-bats against right-handed pitching while Juan Soto (calf) is sidelined. Soto remains day-to-day but missed the final two games of the series against the Giants. Young is slashing .385/.467/.538 with a pair of doubles, one RBI, two runs scored and a 2:2 BB:K across 15 plate appearances this season.
-
Christian Walker HOU 1B
Astros' Christian Walker: Hits another homer Sunday
23h agoWalker went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 12-10 loss to the Athletics.
Walker hit a two-run homer off J.T. Ginn in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game 5-5. It was Walker's second home run in as many days and second of the season. He's now slashing .324/.405/.649 with eight extra-base hits, 11 RBI, seven runs scored and a 5:7 BB:K across 40 plate appearances to begin the season.
-
Jose Fermin STL 2B
Cardinals' Jose Fermin: Scratched from Monday's lineup
3h agoFermin has been scratched from the Cardinals' lineup against the Nationals on Monday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Fermin was initially slated to start in left field and bat eighth. However, Masyn Winn (hip) has been cleared to return from a two-game absence, so the Cardinals have elected to shift Thomas Saggese from shortstop to left field while moving Fermin to the bench. Fermin has appeared in just two regular-season games in 2026, with his lone start taking place Friday against the Tigers.
-
Jorbit Vivas WAS 2B
Nationals' Jorbit Vivas: Heading to bench Monday
4h agoVivas is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.
Vivas will hit the bench Monday, but he had picked up starts in each of the last three games. He recorded a base hit in each of those contests and also drew two walks, bringing his on-base percentage up to .476 on the season. While he's holding his own at the plate, Vivas could continue to get a look as a near-everyday player at third or second base.
-
Jordan Westburg BAL 2B
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Starting throwing progression
5h agoWestburg (elbow) will begin a throwing progression this week, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
It's a major step for the infielder, but there remains no timetable for Westburg's return from a right UCL sprain. He is already on the 60-day injured list and thus not eligible for activation until late May. Coby Mayo has been filling in as the Orioles' third baseman and will continue to do so while Westburg is shelved.
-
Brendan Donovan SEA 2B
Mariners' Brendan Donovan: Rejoining lineup Monday
5h agoDonovan (groin) will start at third base and bat leadoff in Monday's game against the Rangers.
Donovan was held out of the lineup for the final two games of the Mariners' weekend series versus the Angels due to a left groin injury, but a couple days of rest appears to be all he needed to move past the issue. Leo Rivas had manned third base Saturday and Sunday but will slide back over to shortstop while Donovan slots back in at the hot corner.
-
Joseph Ortiz MIL 2B
Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Exiting starting nine
6h agoOrtiz is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Boston.
Ortiz appears to be getting a routine day off and will exit the lineup for the third time in 10 contests this season. David Hamilton will handle shortstop duties for the Brewers on Monday and Luis Rengifo will cover third base.
-
Ronny Mauricio NYM 2B
Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Elevated from Triple-A
7h agoThe Mets recalled Mauricio from Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.
He'll join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for outfielder Juan Soto (calf), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. Mauricio slashed a mere .226/.293/.369 across 61 contests for the Mets last season after missing all of 2024 while recovering from knee surgery. He'll offer manager Carlos Mendoza another infield option, but Mauricio will likely operate mostly as a reserve.
-
Isaac Paredes HOU 3B
Astros' Isaac Paredes: Reinstated from bereavement list
4h agoThe Astros activated Paredes (personal) from the bereavement list Monday.
Paredes was away for the weekend series against the Athletics but is back in time for the start of the Astros' three-game series in Colorado. He's out of the lineup Monday, and given the Astros' glut of infielders, Paredes faces an uncertain playing-time outlook. The 27-year-old is sporting a .227/.346/.409 batting line and 2:6 BB:K across his first 26 plate appearances this season.
-
Graham Pauley MIA 3B
Marlins' Graham Pauley: Idle against lefty again
5h agoPauley is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.
The Marlins are facing off against a third straight left-handed starting pitcher (Brandon Williamson), so the left-handed-hitting Pauley will once again cede third base to Javier Sanoja. Despite being out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Yankees, Pauley was able to come up big off the bench, delivering a two-run double in the eighth inning to give the Marlins the lead in their eventual 7-6 win.
-
Ben Williamson TB 3B
Rays' Ben Williamson: Remaining in starting nine
9h agoWilliamson will start at second base and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Cubs, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
After being activated from the injured list, Taylor Walls (oblique) will cover shortstop in the Rays' home opener, but Williamson will remain in the lineup for a seventh straight game while shifting over to the keystone. Through his first nine games with the Rays, Williamson is hitting .281, but he's not offering much aid in other categories (zero home runs, one steal, seven runs and three RBI). Even so, Williamson's slick fielding and ability to hit for contact may be enough for him to stick around in a near-everyday role in the Tampa Bay middle infield.
-
Rafael Devers SF 3B
Giants' Rafael Devers: Logs RBI in defeat
9h agoDevers started at first base and went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Mets.
Devers played the field for the first time this season after previously serving as the designated hitter due to left hamstring tightness. The veteran infielder hit a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning, driving in San Francisco's final run of the game. He recorded just his second RBI of the season Sunday and is now slashing .211/.286/.316 with a home run and an additional run scored across 42 plate appearances in 10 games.
-
Brett Baty NYM 3B
Mets' Brett Baty: Expected back Tuesday
11h agoBaty (thumb) is expected to be available for Tuesday's series opener against the Diamondbacks, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
The 26-year-old jammed his thumb Saturday and was a late scratch from the lineup Sunday, but the injury doesn't appear to be serious. Baty is still looking for his first homer of 2026, batting .242 (8-for-33) through eight games with two doubles, a triple, a steal, four RBI and six runs.
-
Taylor Walls TB 3B
Rays' Taylor Walls: Returns from injured list
12h agoThe Rays activated Walls (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday.
Walls got a late start to the season due to a right oblique strain, but he's been cleared to return to action after playing in some extended spring training contests. The slick-fielding Walls should take over as the Rays' primary shortstop, though the club will want to give Ben Williamson some reps at the position as well.
-
Gabriel Arias CLE SS
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Nursing hamstring issue
1h agoArias was removed from Monday's game against Kansas City due to left hamstring tightness, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
It's unclear at this time whether Arias will require a stint on the injured list. The Guardians will presumably send their starting shortstop for further testing before providing an update on his availability for Tuesday and beyond.
-
Gabriel Arias CLE SS
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Exits early Monday
1h agoArias left Monday's game against the Royals due to an apparent left leg injury, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Arias appeared to suffer the injury during the fifth inning on a double, and he was promptly removed from the matchup. He can be considered day-to-day until the team has more information on the severity of his injury.
-
Ezequiel Tovar COL SS
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Receiving first day off
2h agoTovar is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.
Tovar will receive his first night off of the season after slashing .270/.289/.405 with one home run, one stolen base, five RBI and three runs through the Rockies' first nine games. Willi Castro will get the nod at shortstop Monday in Tovar's stead.
-
Javier Baez DET SS
Tigers' Javier Baez: On bench again Monday
3h agoBaez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.
Baez will hit the bench for the fourth time in eight games, with all of his absences coming against right-handed pitching. He appears to have fallen into an indirect timeshare with Zack McKinstry, who has been seeing time in right field and second base while Kevin McGonigle covers shortstop when Baez is out of the lineup. Baez is holding down a lowly .200/.227/.200 slash line over 22 plate appearances to begin the season, and he could see his playing time dwindle further if he's unable to stage a dramatic turnaround.
-
Masyn Winn STL SS
Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Playing Monday after all
3h agoWinn (hip) is starting at shortstop and batting sixth against the Nationals on Monday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Winn was initially slated to miss a third consecutive game, but he has made enough progress in his recovery from a left hip injury to be back in action for Monday's contest. With Winn back in the Cardinals' lineup, Thomas Saggese will shift from shortstop to left field while Jose Fermin moves to the bench.
-
Blaze Alexander BAL SS
Orioles' Blaze Alexander: Drops out of starting nine Monday
3h agoAlexander is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.
Alexander had been included in the lineup for all three games of the Orioles' weekend series in Pittsburgh, making two starts at third base and one at second base while going 2-for-10 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs. Coby Mayo will cover third base and Jeremiah Jackson will man the keystone Monday, but those two players and Alexander will have to vie for one spot in the Orioles' everyday lineup once Jackson Holliday (hand) returns from the injured list, which could happen later this week.
-
Austin Hays CHW LF
White Sox's Austin Hays: Departs early Monday
43m agoHays was lifted from Monday's game against the Orioles due to a right hamstring strain.
Hays pulled up early on an attempt to chase down a ball hit down the line in the top of the fourth inning, and he was forced to exit immediately after the play. The White Sox are calling the injury a right hamstring strain, and he'll be sent for further evaluation to determine if a trip to the injured list is warranted.
-
Troy Johnston COL RF
Rockies' Troy Johnston: Batting cleanup Monday
2h agoJohnston will start in right field and bat cleanup in Monday's game against the Astros.
The Rockies have limped out to a 3-6 start to the season, but Johnston has been one of the few bright spots in the early going. He'll pick up his seventh consecutive start Monday after producing a .280/.308/.440 slash line with one home run, three RBI and an additional run over his first 27 plate appearances of the season. With Jordan Beck (.303 OPS) and Jake McCarthy (.384 OPS) both struggling out of the gate, Johnston could continue to hold down an everyday role while he's wielding a hot bat.
-
Jordan Beck COL OF
Rockies' Jordan Beck: Heading to bench Monday
2h agoBeck is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.
Beck will hit the bench for the second time in four games while the Rockies go with an outfield configuration of Jake McCarthy, Brenton Doyle and Troy Johnston from left to right. Johnston will be making his seventh consecutive start and may have settled into a near-everyday role at this point, which could result in Beck becoming more of a part-time player. Beck hasn't helped his case for earning regular at-bats by getting off to a 2-for-22 start to the season at the dish.
-
Kerry Carpenter DET RF
Tigers' Kerry Carpenter: Out with stomach bug
3h agoCarpenter is not in the lineup Monday versus the Twins due to a stomach bug, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Carpenter popped his second home run of the season in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, but he'll get some rest a day later as he battles a stomach illness. Consider him day-to-day for the time being. Matt Vierling and Zach McKinstry are in the corner outfield spots for the Tigers on Monday while Riley Greene gets a start at designated hitter.
-
Dylan Beavers BAL RF
Orioles' Dylan Beavers: Resting Monday
4h agoBeavers is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.
After making four consecutive starts, Beavers will head to the bench as the Orioles open their three-game series in Chicago. Tyler O'Neill will step in for Beavers in right field and will bat fifth.
-
Jesus Sanchez TOR RF
Blue Jays' Jesus Sanchez: Sitting again Monday
4h agoSanchez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.
The left-handed hitter finds himself on the bench for a third straight game, this time against a southpaw (Justin Wrobleski) after his prior two absences came versus right-handed pitchers. The Blue Jays have leaned on a three-man committee in left field, with Sanchez and Davis Schneider leading the group with four starts apiece and Nathan Lukes making two starts.
-
Noble Meyer MIA SP
-
Nick Lodolo CIN SP
Reds' Nick Lodolo: Making progress
2h agoLodolo is using a new "resource" to deal with his blister issue and is making some progress in his recovery. He played catch on Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of Charlie's Chalkboard reports.
This is not the first time that Lodolo has dealt with the blister issue, and yet one of the problems for him is the lack of a blister specialist to help him out. "Everyone's skin is different," Lodolo said. "How it feels, how you throw the ball, how it comes off of your finger, the pressure. A lot of guys are more middle finger on the ball. I'm more index finger heavy. It's about figuring out how we can manage it. I threw a good amount last year, and it only happened once."
-
Jose Corniell TEX SP
Rangers' Jose Corniell: Still in 'dead arm' phase
2h agoCorniell remains unavailable to pitch as he goes through a "dead arm" phase, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Corniell missed nearly all of spring training and it's unclear when he might be ready to pitch in games. The 22-year-old is likely to be part of the rotation at Double-A Frisco once he's physically ready. Corniell missed all of 2024 and much of 2025 while recovering from UCL surgery, so he needs to make up for lost time.
-
Winston Santos TEX SP
Rangers' Winston Santos: Cleared for season debut
2h agoSantos (hand) will make his season debut with Double-A Frisco on Thursday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Santos is finally ready to pitch in a game after recovering from a fractured left (non-throwing) hand that he suffered in late February. Slated to turn 24 next week, Santos is on the Rangers' 40-man roster and has a chance to debut at some point this season.
-
Luis Morales ATH SP
Athletics' Luis Morales: Sent back to minors
3h agoThe Athletics optioned Morales to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.
Morales had a disastrous first two starts of the season, allowing 10 runs on 13 hits (including four home runs) with a 5:8 K:BB over 7.1 innings. The 23-year-old is one of the Athletics' most talented young arms and showed promise last season, but he'll hope to get sorted out at Las Vegas before getting another opportunity with the big club. The A's have yet to announce who will take Morales' spot in the rotation, but moving J.T. Ginn from the bullpen to the rotation is one option.
-
Orion Kerkering PHI RP
-
Jason Foley SF RP
Giants' Jason Foley: Progressing in recovery
3h agoFoley (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Foley continues to recover from right shoulder surgery that he underwent in May of 2025. He opened the 2026 season on the 60-day IL, and while he's not expected to be ready for major-league action until at least midseason, it's encouraging to see that he has progressed enough in his rehab to toss a bullpen session.
-
Mitch Farris LAA RP
Angels' Mitch Farris: Recalled from Triple-A
4h agoThe Angels recalled Farris from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
He's taking the roster spot vacated by Ryan Johnson (illness). Farris posted a 6.66 ERA in five starts for the Angels in 2025 and struggled in his first outing this season at Salt Lake, but he will offer the bullpen some length.
-
Enyel De Los Santos HOU RP
Astros' Enyel De Los Santos: Returns from IL
4h agoThe Astros activated De Los Santos (knee) from the 15-day injured list Monday.
De Los Santos got a late start to the season due to a right knee strain, but he's ready to go after making four scoreless rehab appearances. The right-hander will operate in a middle relief role for Houston.
-
Josh Fleming TOR RP
Blue Jays' Josh Fleming: Moves up to majors
6h agoThe Blue Jays selected Fleming's contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.
Toronto will swap Fleming into the bullpen in place of right-hander Austin Voth, who was designated for assignment after covering 2.2 innings in relief during Sunday's 3-0 loss to the White Sox. Like Voth before him, Fleming is expected to serve as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen and is likely to see most of his usage in lower-leverage spots. Fleming last saw MLB action with the Pirates in 2024, logging a 4.02 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 31.1 innings across 25 appearances (three starts).
-
Yordan Alvarez HOU DH
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Slugs fourth home run Sunday
23h agoAlvarez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and two walks in Sunday's 12-10 loss to the Athletics.
Alvarez took Jacob Lopez deep in the fifth inning to get the scoring started in this one. It was Alvarez's fourth long ball of the season, and he's now driven in 10 runs. One of the hottest hitters in baseball through the first week-and-a-half, Alvarez owns a robust .400/.578/.900 slash line with 10 runs scored, one stolen base and a 12:6 BB:K across 45 trips to the plate. He's taken six walks over his last two games.
-
Brent Rooker ATH DH
Athletics' Brent Rooker: Two homers, six RBI in walk-off win
1d agoRooker went 2-for-4 with two home runs, six RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's 12-10 win over the Astros.
Prior to Sunday's game, Rooker opened the season 4-for-30 with one RBI and a 3:14 BB:K across 33 trips to the plate. Rooker busted the slump in a big way in Sunday's back-and-forth affair. He hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth, broke a 5-5 tie with a two-run homer in the seventh and then walked it off with a three-run shot in the bottom of the 10th inning. Rooker now has his slash line up to .176/.256/.353 through nine games.
-
Joc Pederson TEX DH
Rangers' Joc Pederson: Launches first home run
1d agoPederson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run in Sunday's 2-1 loss to Cincinnati.
Pederson halted an 0-for-16 stretch to start the season with a seventh-inning home run. It's been a frustrating start to 2026, the second straight season he's opened with a significant slump. In 2025, Pederson was batting .052 (3-for-58) after 20 games on his way to a .181 average and nine home runs over 96 games.
-
Shohei Ohtani LAD DH
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Swats second homer
1d agoOhtani went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second RBI in Sunday's 8-6 win over the Nationals.
Ohtani opened the scoring in the third inning with a 438-foot blast off Foster Griffin, his second homer of the season. He'd later put the Dodgers ahead 7-6 with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. After starting the year 3-for-18, Ohtani has logged three consecutive multi-hit games, going 6-for-15 with a pair of homers and six RBI in that span.
-
Marcell Ozuna PIT DH
Pirates' Marcell Ozuna: Sitting amid slump
1d agoOzuna is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles
Ozuna went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts in Saturday's contest to break a four-game hitless streak, but he'll take a seat for Sunday's series finale versus Baltimore. Bryan Reynolds will rest his legs as the designated hitter, opening up a spot in the outfield for Jake Mangum.

Twins' Byron Buxton: Back in lineup Sunday
1d agoBuxton (forearm) is starting at DH and batting second against Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Buxton was hit in the forearm by a pitch Friday and was held out of Saturday's contest. However, he appears to have avoided a major injury given his return to the lineup Sunday. The All-Star outfielder has struggled to begin the campaign, slashing .154/.207/.269 with just one RBI and a 1:9 BB:K through seven games.
