  • Reds' Kyle Parker: Signs with Reds

Parker signed a minor league deal with the Reds on Tuesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

A former first round pick, Parker was released by the Rockies earlier in the month after a poor spring showing followed a disappointing 2015 campaign. He'll likely report to the Triple-A level and will serve as outfield depth within the Cincinnati organization.

  • Kyle Parker: Released by Rockies

Parker was released by the Rockies on Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Parker, the Rockies' top pick of the 2010 draft, was released by the team after batting .222 with two RBI in 27 at-bats this spring. He was with Colorado in spring training as a non-roster invitee. Parker has only received 132 at-bats in the majors during his career, and has just 24 hits and 12 RBI with 51 strikeouts. The 26-year-old may land with another club but is not likely to be of any fantasy value in 2016.

  • Rockies' Kyle Parker: Clears waivers, outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque

Parker cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Parker was designated for assignment on January 20 to make room for Gerardo Parra on the 40-man roster, and no suitors stepped forward during his waiver period. If he chooses to accept, he'll spend 2016 mostly in Triple-A sitting behind a logjam in the Colorado outfield. Otherwise, he can choose to decline the assignment and see if a change in scenery is what he needs to succeed. Either way, it'll be tough for Parker to find his way back into the major league conversation soon.

  • Rockies' Kyle Parker: Designated for assignment by Rockies on Wednesday

Parker was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Wednesday, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.

The Rockies needed to clear a spot for the recently-signed Gerardo Parra, and Parker was the casualty due to the crowded nature of their outfield. The former first-round draft pick batted a mere .179 with three home runs, 11 RBI, and a whopping 33 percent strikeout rate in 46 games with the Rockies in 2015. He's expected to draw interest from other teams thanks to his power potential, so he may end up in a different organization by spring training.
