A.J. Brown PHI WR
Eagles' A.J. Brown: Could still be traded
1h agoThe Eagles have discussed trading Brown in recent weeks, including dialogue with the Rams before they traded for CB Trent McDuffie, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.
The report notes that Los Angeles remains interested, though negotiations slowed down after the McDuffie acquisition. New England is mentioned most often in trade rumors, even after reaching a four-year agreement with WR Romeo Doubs. The Eagles, meanwhile, don't seem to be in any rush, which makes sense given that any deal completed June 1 (or later) would have the dead-cap charge split between 2026 and 2027 (rather than taking the entire $43.4 million hit this year). One or two suitors may lose interest between now and then, especially after the NFL Draft, but there will always be some market for a player with six 1,000-yard seasons through seven years in the NFL. If the Eagles aren't happy with offers, they may instead try to sell Brown on the idea of an improved passing game under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion.

J.J. McCarthy MIN QB
Vikings' J.J. McCarthy: Dropping down depth chart?
3h agoMcCarthy (hand) is unlikely to enter Week 1 as a starter after the Vikings signed Kyler Murray, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic.
For what it's worth, Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell declined to comment on expectations for a 2026 starter when reporters asked him Thursday. Reading between the lines, McCarthy's poor 2025 performance would make him a major underdog if a job battle were to take place, even against a post-prime version of Murray (who turns 29 in August). O'Connell is saying all of the things one might expect about continuing McCarthy's development, but odds are it'll be happening from the bench for at least the early part of the 2026 campaign.

Decobie Durant LAR CB
Cowboys' Cobie Durant: Inks deal with Dallas
12h agoThe Cowboys agreed to terms with Durant on a one-year contract Thursday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Durant appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the Rams last season, making 15 starts, and finished with 40 tackles (30 solo) and seven pass breakups, including three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. Durant will compete for cornerback snaps alongside Shavon Revel (concussion), Caelen Carson and Trikweze Bridges opposite DaRon Bland (foot).

Grant Stuard DET LB
Rams' Grant Stuard: Inks deal with Los Angeles
12h agoThe Rams signed Stuard to a two-year contract worth up to $5.05 million Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The 27-year-old linebacker is a foundational piece on special teams, which was a major area of struggle for the Rams last season. Only 12 players logged more snaps on special teams last season than Stuard, who finished with 19 tackles (six solo) across 17 regular-season contests.

Miles Killebrew PIT SAF
Buccaneers' Miles Killebrew: Signs with Tampa Bay
13h agoKillebrew (knee) signed a one-year, $1.8 million contract with Tampa Bay on Thursday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
The 32-year-old is a former All-Pro special teams player and will reunite with former Steelers special teams coordinator Danny Smith with the Bucs. Killebrew sustained a season-ending knee injury in Week 6 last season but appears to be healthy.
-
Nate Hobbs GB CB
49ers' Nate Hobbs: Signs with San Francisco
13h agoThe 49ers agreed to terms with Hobbs (knee) on a one-year, $4 million contract Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Hobbs signed a four-year, $48 million deal with the Packers last offseason to be the team's slot corner, but he dealt with injuries seemingly all season and appeared in just 11 regular-season contests. Hobbs finished with a career-low 27 tackles (14 solo) and just two pass breakups before being released this week. He'll try to get healthy in San Francisco after suffering a torn MCL in Week 17.

Grant Holmes ATL RP
Braves' Grant Holmes: Dominant outing against Bucs
6m agoHolmes struck out nine and walked one over five scoreless, no-hit innings in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates.
The right-hander built up to 64 pitches (41 strikes) as he dominated a Pittsburgh lineup that featured most of its likely Opening Day starters, including Bryan Reynolds, Ryan O'Hearn and Marcell Ozuna. Holmes has yet to allow an earned run this spring, posting a 16:6 K:BB through 12.1 innings, and he's locked into an Opening Day rotation spot due to injuries to Spencer Schwellenbach (elbow), Hurston Waldrep (elbow) and Joey Wentz (knee).

Jose Suarez ATL SP
Braves' Jose Suarez: Could make Opening Day roster
14m agoSuarez might end up beginning the season on the 26-man roster as Atlanta navigates playing 13 games in 13 days to open its schedule, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
While the team is expected to use a six-man rotation during that 13-day slog, that sixth starter -- likely to be Martin Perez, but with prospects JR Ritchie and Didier Fuentes also in the mix -- could be called up early in the season rather than being on the Opening Day roster. In that scenario, Suarez could stick instead as a versatile arm capable of starting or relieving who is also out of minor-league options, with Atlanta then re-evaluating his place on the staff in early April. The 28-year-old southpaw made seven appearances (one start) for Atlanta in 2025, producing a 1.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 16:10 K:BB over 19.1 innings.

Alexis Diaz TEX RP
Rangers' Alexis Diaz: DFA'd by Texas
45m agoThe Rangers designated Diaz for assignment Friday.
Diaz entered spring training with a chance at winning Texas' closer job, but he was shelled this spring, allowing eight earned runs on three hits and four walks across 1.2 innings of work spanning three relief appearances. He faced 13 batters and retired just five, striking out one. With Diaz out of the picture, Robert Garcia and Chris Martin are the favorites for saves for the Rangers.

Trevor Rogers BAL SP
Orioles' Trevor Rogers: Named Opening Day starter
1h agoThe Orioles have named Rogers their Opening Day starter.
Rogers will face the Twins and presumably Joe Ryan on March 26. After struggling following his midseason trade to the Orioles from the Marlins in the summer of 2024, Rogers was great across 18 starts last season, posting a 9-3 record, 1.81 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 103:29 K:BB across 109.2 innings. It will obviously be difficult for Rogers to replicate those numbers, but he's more than earned the nod for Opening Day.

Quinn Priester MIL SP
Brewers' Quinn Priester: Late-April return 'optimistic'
1h agoPriester (wrist) said Friday that he's hoping to be ready to pitch in games by "late April, May," Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
It appears to be a very rough timetable, with Priester admitting the late April/early May he offered is "on the optimistic side." Priester has been diagnosed with a nerve issue in the thoracic outlet syndrome family that has led to pain in his right wrist. The righty indicated Friday that the vascular specialist in Dallas who diagnosed his injury told him he had the least severe of three different TOS-related issues and there's optimism it can be treated without surgery. Priester is still able to throw on flat ground and has a bullpen session scheduled for March 21.
-
Shane Bieber TOR SP
Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Remains limited to flat-ground work
1h agoBieber (forearm) will continue throwing from flat ground over the next several days and will be reevaluated late next week, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Bieber has yet to progress to mound work this spring, and he'll need to wait at least another five-to-seven days before something changes. The Blue Jays have been slow-playing Bieber's return to the mound after he dealt with forearm fatigue last season. Bieber has already been ruled out for Opening Day, and he'll likely need at least six weeks to build up once he's actually cleared to start throwing normal bullpen sessions.

Leonard Miller CHI SF
Bulls' Leonard Miller: Impresses in start
5m agoMiller chipped in 15 points (6-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one steal across 31 minutes during Thursday's 142-130 loss to the Lakers.
With so many injuries in Chicago, Miller is making the most of his newfound minutes and is worth a long look in most fantasy formats. In 23.7 minutes per contest over his last six games, he's averaging 10.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 three-pointers on 54.2 percent shooting from the field.
-
Nick Richards CHI C
Bulls' Nick Richards: Another strong line
6m agoRichards provided 15 points (7-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 26 minutes during Thursday's 142-130 loss to the Lakers.
Richards continues to play an expanded role for a Chicago team that has several injuries. He's been a solid low-end streaming option over his last six games, posting averages of 11.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 25.7 minutes per contest.
-
Luguentz Dort OKC SF
Thunder's Luguentz Dort: Pedestrian line in narrow win
9m agoDort racked up six points (2-8 FG, 2-8 3Pt), six rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes during Thursday's 104-102 victory over Boston.
Dort struggled with his shot on Thursday, missing six of his eight attempts from deep, but he managed to contribute as a rebounder to help OKC secure a narrow win over the Celtics. While his offensive consistency remains a major question mark, Dort has been a permanent fixture in the starting five, averaging 30.0 minutes per game over his last 10 appearances. During this recent stretch, his scoring has been modest, averaging 8.3 points per game on just 31.5 percent shooting from the floor. Despite the lack of high-volume scoring, Dort's primary value to the Thunder lies in his perimeter defense, which keeps his minutes floor secure regardless of his shooting slumps.
-
Bobby Portis MIL PF
Bucks' Bobby Portis: Returns from back issue
20m agoPortis provided 19 points (8-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal over 26 minutes during Thursday's 112-105 loss to the Heat.
Portis returned to action Thursday following a one-game absence due to a back contusion. He served as a much-needed spark for Milwaukee's bench, finishing as the team's second-leading scorer behind Giannis Antetokounmpo. Portis has been highly efficient in March, averaging 15.3 points per game while shooting over 56.5% from the field across six outings. With Milwaukee's frontcourt finally reaching full health, Portis has settled back into his signature high-usage reserve role where he continues to be a reliable source of points and triples.
-
Jett Howard ORL SG
Magic's Jett Howard: Solid workload in overtime win
25m agoHoward supplied 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and two assists over 20 minutes during Thursday's 136-131 overtime win over Washington.
Howard logged 20-plus minutes for a fourth straight game on Thursday, a significant shift for a player who hadn't reached that mark in back-to-back outings at any other point this season. This sustained usage is a direct result of Franz Wagner (ankle) being sidelined with no definitive timetable for a return. During this four-game span, Howard has averaged 10.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists while knocking down 1.8 triples per contest.
-
Sam Merrill CLE SG
Cavaliers' Sam Merrill: Questionable for Friday
29m agoMerrill is questionable for Friday's game against Dallas with left hamstring tightness.
Merill was a late addition to the injury report for this contest. He's been playing heavy minutes lately, including 30 against the Magic on Wednesday. If Merrill is unable to play, Keon Ellis and Jaylon Tyson could be more involved for the Cavaliers.
-
Nick Jensen OTT D
Senators' Nick Jensen: Suffers lower-body injury
25m agoJensen missed practice Friday with a lower-body injury, Julian McKenzie of The Athletic reports.
Jensen's injury is not to his hip, which caused him to undergo offseason surgery. He has four goals, 13 assists and 65 blocked shots over 61 games this season. If Jensen is unable to play Saturday versus Anaheim, look for Dennis Gilbert to enter the lineup on the third pairing, alongside Nikolas Matinpalo.
-
Laurent Brossoit SJ G
Sharks' Laurent Brossoit: Summoned from AHL
36m agoBrossoit was recalled from AHL San Jose on Friday.
The move was made necessary when Yaroslav Askarov tweaked something Thursday, forcing the Sharks to go with emergency backup goaltender Kyle Chauvette, who was signed to an amateur tryout prior to Thursday's tilt in Boston. Brossoit is 11-2-1 with a 2.48 GAA and .915 save percentage for AHL San Jose this season. He is expected to back up Alex Nedeljkovic on Saturday in Montreal.
-
Jakub Dobes MON G
Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Starter for Saturday
42m agoDobes will defend the home cage versus San Jose on Saturday, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.
Dobes has won his last two starts, giving up four goals on 57 shots in victories over Toronto and Los Angeles. The netminder is 21-6-4 with a 2.97 GAA and an .892 save percentage across 31 contests this season. The Sharks are generating 3.08 goals per game this season, 18th in the NHL.
-
Nick Paul TB C
Lightning's Nick Paul: Game-time decision for Saturday
1h agoPaul (undisclosed) will be a game-time call for Saturday's tilt versus Carolina, per Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site.
Paul practiced without restrictions Friday. He has missed the last 11 games, missing the last six weeks. He should play as a middle-six center upon his return, with Yanni Gourde moving down the depth chart. Paul had six goals and 12 points in 34 games prior to his injury Feb. 1.
-
Erik Cernak TB D
Lightning's Erik Cernak: Game-time call for Saturday
1h agoCernak (undisclosed) practiced Friday and will be a game-time decision for Saturday's clash versus Carolina, Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site reports.
Cernak has missed the last two games with the injury. He has one goal, six assists, 81 hits, 77 blocked shots and 52 PIM across 43 games this season. Look for Declan Carlile (undisclosed) to be scratched if Cernak is able to play.
-
Sam Reinhart FLA C
Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Overtime hero Thursday
1h agoReinhart scored the overtime winner and added an assist, both on the power play, in Thursday's 2-1 victory over Columbus.
The Panthers' special teams proved to be the difference in a goaltending duel between Sergei Bobrovsky and Elvis Merzlikins, with Reinhart snapping the puck past a scrambling Merzlikins from the side of the net. Reinhart hasn't gone consecutive games without getting onto the scoresheet since mid-January, and that consistency has earned him five goals and 14 points over his last 15 contests. The veteran winger needs one more goal to reach 30 for a fifth straight season.
