  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Picks up power-play assist

Jenner notched a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Canucks. Jenner set up the second of Kirill Marchenko's tallies in the contest. After scoring in the three previous contests, Jenner is on a four-game point streak. He's added 15 shots on net and eight hits in that span. The 29-year-old forward is up to 26 points (seven on the power play), 116 shots on net, 67 hits, 43 blocked shots and a minus-13 rating through 38 outings this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Tallies opening goal

Jenner scored a goal, logged three hits and blocked three shots in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Oilers. Jenner has scored in three straight contests. The 29-year-old is up to 14 tallies, 25 points, 114 shots on net, 66 hits, 43 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating through 37 appearances this season. As long as he remains in a top-six role, he should have some appeal as an all-around producer in fantasy.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Scores equalizer Monday

Jenner scored a goal on seven shots, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Flames. Jenner's third-period tally was what got the game to overtime. He's scored in back-to-back contests after coming up empty in his first four games back from a broken thumb. The 29-year-old center has 13 tallies, 11 assists, 113 shots on net, 63 hits, 40 blocked shots and a minus-13 rating through 36 appearances. He remains in the mix for the top-line job, though Jack Roslovic started Monday's game in that position while Jenner was on the second line.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Picks up first point since return

Jenner scored a goal on five shots and added three hits, a plus-2 rating and eight faceoff wins on 11 draws in Saturday's win over the Sharks. It was Jenner's first point in five games since returning from surgery to repair a fractured thumb. His work at the faceoff dot in particular is a strong sign he's feeling 100 percent, and he showed some chemistry in the second half of the game on a line with Gustav Nyquist and rookie Kent Johnson, each of whom picked up an assist on Jenner's goal. It's a step down from centering Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine at even strength, but Jenner's spot on the top power-play unit should give him a decent floor for fantasy value.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Returning Saturday

Jenner (thumb) will rejoin the Blue Jackets' lineup Saturday against the Red Wings, per Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers. Jenner has missed 11 games since undergoing surgery on a broken thumb in mid-December. The 29-year-old center had 11 goals and 11 assists in 30 games this season while adding 54 hits and 34 blocked shots. Jenner should return to a top-line role in Columbus.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Returns to practice Friday

Jenner (broken thumb) returned to practice Friday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. Jenner suffered the injury Dec. 17 against the Bruins and has missed the last 11 games. He required surgery and was expected to miss four weeks, which would make his return to action as early as Monday against the Rangers. Jenner has 11 goals and 22 points in 30 games this season as the Blue Jackets' top center.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Undergoing thumb surgery

Jenner will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a fractured thumb. He is expected to miss about four weeks and has been placed on injured reserve. Columbus has brought up Josh Dunne from AHL Cleveland in a corresponding move. Kent Johnson is slated to play between Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine on Monday against Dallas. Jenner has registered 11 goals, 11 assists, 93 shots on net, 34 blocks and 54 hits in 30 games this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Ice time on rise

Jenner's ice time has increased as the Blue Jackets struggle to find reliable alternatives at center, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. The 29-year-old has topped 20 minutes in seven of Columbus' last nine games, and his average TOI on the season has crept above 20:00 as a result. Jenner averaged a career-high 20:27 last season before suffering a back injury that ended his campaign in early March, so the Jackets are understandably keeping an eye on his workload. "It's hard, and I've really pulled him back on the penalty kill," coach Brad Larsen said Friday. "But then faceoffs come into it. If Kurls (Sean Kuraly) has just had a shift and I need a faceoff guy, maybe (Jenner) gets stuck out there. There are these moments that happen and I go, 'I gotta use him. I gotta use him. I gotta use him.' You're trying to win hockey games." Early-season slumps from Jack Roslovic and Cole Sillinger have exacerbated the issue, but Roslovic appears to be waking up while skating on a line with Patrik Laine, and his emergence could take some pressure off Jenner. The extra responsibility hasn't hurt Jenner's fantasy production, though -- since the beginning of November, he's racked up nine goals and 17 points in 17 games.

Jenner tallied a power-play goal in a 6-5 overtime win against Los Angeles on Sunday. Jenner's marker came at 9:28 of the first period and put Columbus ahead 2-0. • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Gets two helpers vs. Detroit

Jenner registered two assists in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Detroit. Jenner has a goal and four points in his last three games, which brings him up to nine markers and 18 points in 23 contests. He got off to a cold start in 2022-23 with a goal and four points in his first 10 games, but ever since then Jenner has been a fairly reliable offensive contributor.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Picks up helper Friday

Jenner recorded an assist, two shots on goal, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 4-1 win over the Jets. Jenner set up the second of Patrik Laine's two goals in the game. With Laine back from an ankle injury, Jenner's production on the Blue Jackets' top line should be set to increase. Jenner is at nine goals, seven assists, 74 shots, 35 hits, 30 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating through 22 contests, but his important minutes in all situations should keep his offense fairly steady.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Has 15 points in 21 games

Jenner provided a goal in Monday's 3-2 shootout loss to Vegas. Jenner has nine goals and 15 points in 21 contests this season. His scoring pace is roughly in line with 2021-22 when he recorded 23 goals and 44 points in 59 games. As long as he stays healthy this time, he should finish with 50-60 points.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Nets goal vs. Florida

Jenner found the back of the net in Columbus' 5-3 win over Florida on Sunday. Jenner has been held off the scoresheet only once in his last eight contests. He got off to a slow start this season, scoring a goal and four points in 10 games, but he's now up to eight goals and 14 points in 18 contests. As long as he remains on the first line and top power-play unit with Johnny Gaudreau, Jenner is capable of making regular offensive contributions.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Adds another two points Thursday

Jenner scored a goal and registered an assist in a 6-4 victory over Montreal on Thursday. There aren't many players hotter than Jenner right now. He's contributed six goals and seven points in his last five contests. That's pushed him up to seven goals and 12 points in 16 contests in 2022-23. Obviously his current hot streak isn't sustainable, but it's great while it lasts.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Has five goals in last four games

Jenner netted two goals in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win against Philadelphia. Jenner is red hot, providing five goals over his last four games. That's brought him up to six goals and 10 points in 15 contests. He's a core part of the Blue Jackets' forward core, averaging 20:04 of ice time. He's had an up-and-down career, but at his best, he's demonstrated that he's capable of recording around 30 goals and 50 points.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Pots winner in two-goal night

Jenner scored two goals, including the game-winner, in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Flyers. The Blue Jackets' captain led the charge to help his club end a five-game losing streak, beating Carter Hart on a three-on-one early in the second period to give Columbus a 3-0 lead before collecting an empty-netter late in the third to cap the scoring. Jenner has three goals and four points over a modest three-game point streak, boosting his production on the season to four goals and eight points through 13 contests.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Not at practice Thursday

Jenner (illness) is not at practice Thursday. The Blue Jackets are in Finland to play a pair of games against the Avalanche on Friday and Saturday but Jenner should be considered questionable to play at this time. He has a goal and four points in 10 games this season and has been demoted to the second line after starting the season between Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine on the top line.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Captain gets on board

Jenner opened the scoring in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Penguins. The Penguins misplayed the puck from behind their net and Jenner capitalized with his first goal of the season. It's been a solid start to the campaign for Jenner, as the captain has a goal and three assists through six games. The offseason arrival of Johnny Gaudreau seems to have stabilized the top line that Jenner centers, and Jenner is averaging 20:24 of ice time to maximize his opportunities.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Expected to play

Jenner (back) is on track to make his preseason debut Thursday against St. Louis, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports. Jenner hasn't played in any preseason games thus far due to a back injury, but he should see live action versus the Blues on Thursday. The 29-year-old forward is expected to open the season as Columbus' No. 1 center, skating between Johnny Gaudreau and Patrik Laine on the top line.

  • Blue Jackets' Boone Jenner: Targeting Thursday return

Jenner (back) could make his preseason debut versus St. Louis on Thursday, Blue Jackets team reporter Jeff Svoboda reports. Jenner missed the final 23 games of the previous campaign and has yet to get onto the ice for the Jackets for a preseason tilt. Barring any setbacks, the 29-year-old Ontario native should slot into a first-line center role. Despite playing in just 59 games last year, Jenner still notched his second 20-plus goal campaign last year and should be capable of reaching that mark again in 2022-23.
