Jalen Carter PHI DT
Eagles' Jalen Carter: Expensive fifth-year option
13h agoThe Eagles picked up Carter's fifth-year option Monday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The cost to maintain Carter's services through 2027 comes at a hefty $27 million. The defensive tackle earned Pro Bowl honors in both 2024 and 2025, adding value to his fifth-year option. Carter missed multiple games due to various injuries last season, as well as being ejected in Week 1 for an incident involving him spitting on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. When Carter was on the field, he produced 33 tackles (21 solo), including 3.0 sacks, and seven passes defensed over 12 regular-season games (really 11 since he was ejected before the first snap of Week 1).

Nolan Smith PHI LB
Eagles' Nolan Smith: Fifth-year option excercised
13h agoThe Eagles exercised Smith's fifth-year option Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Smith will earn another $13.7 million, guaranteeing his services to the Eagles through 2027. The linebacker is coming off a slightly disappointing season that was spoiled by a lingering triceps injury he originally suffered during training camp. Despite the issue, Smith still started 12 regular-season games, logging 31 tackles (15 solo), including 3.0 sacks. Headed into 2026 healthy, Smith will look to produce a year similar to his 2024 season (42 tackles, including 6.5 sacks), which would help greatly in long-term extension discussions with the organization.

Curtis Robinson DAL LB
Cowboys' Curtis Robinson: Signing with Dallas
14h agoThe Cowboys signed Robinson to a one-year deal Monday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Robinson got a chance to prove his mettle in 2025 due to an injury bug that hit the 49ers' linebacker corps. The 27-year-old played 244 defensive snaps over 14 games last season, up from 83 snaps over 15 games in the first five years of his career combined. Robinson registered 42 tackles (19 solo) over that 14-game span and has proven to be a reliable depth option that will be able to produce for the Cowboys in 2026 if DeMarvion Overshown, Shemar James or Dee Winters are unable to suit up.
-
Tyler Johnson DAL WR
Cowboys' Tyler Johnson: Staying in Dallas
14h agoThe Cowboys signed Johnson to a one-year deal Monday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Johnson played in 12 games for the Jets in 2025, catching 12 balls for 197 yards and one touchdown. The addition of Marquez Valdes-Scantling means there is yet another wide receiver Johnson will need to outperform in training camp to remain on the active roster. If the 27-year-old can win a role, he likely will maintain his 2025 production level.

Tyree Wilson NO DE
Saints' Tyree Wilson: Fifth-year option declined
14h agoThe Saints declined Wilson's fifth-year option Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
As the seventh overall pick in 2023 Draft and a defensive end, Wilson's fifth-year option would have come in at $14.475 million. The pass rusher's career has been disappointing thus far in relation to the draft capital invested in him, so it makes sense that the Saints' trade acquisition is more of a one-year flyer on a once-promising and athletic player and not a commitment to pursue his future. If Wilson can revive his career in 2026 with a better season, the team may look to keep his services in New Orleans long term.

Cam Akers SEA RB
Cam Akers: Let go by Seattle
14h agoThe Seahawks released Akers on Monday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Akers played in six contests for the Seahawks in 2025. The running back was predominantly a special teamer in those games, playing just nine offensive snaps that resulted in five rushing attempts for 19 yards. With the team adding Jadarian Price in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft, Akers was likely pushed too far down the depth chart to validate keeping. The 26-year-old NFL veteran is now a free agent available to sign with any team that values his experience.

Kyle Tucker LAD RF
Dodgers' Kyle Tucker: Lifts Dodgers to win Monday
4h agoTucker went 1-for-5 with a walk-off two-RBI single in Monday's win over the Marlins.
Tucker's lone hit proved decisive, as his two-RBI single in the ninth inning delivered a walk-off win for the Dodgers. After posting an .841 OPS across 136 regular-season games with the Cubs in 2025, the 29-year-old is off to a relatively slow start in 2026. Through 28 games, Tucker is slashing a modest .236/.320/.364 with three homers, five doubles, 15 RBI, 20 runs and three stolen bases.
-
Liam Hicks MIA C
Marlins' Liam Hicks: Clubs three-run homer in loss
4h agoHicks went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's loss to the Dodgers.
Hicks powered the Marlins' offense with a three-run homer off Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the fifth inning, though the Dodgers rallied to walk it off in the ninth inning. Hicks has seen time at catcher, first base and designated hitter this season and has produced regardless of role, slashing .311/.350/.544 with six homers, three doubles, 27 RBI and 17 runs across 28 games. His 27 RBI ranks second in MLB, trailing only Sal Stewart (29).
-
Tyler Phillips MIA SP
Marlins' Tyler Phillips: Charged with blown save Monday
4h agoPhillips blew the save in Monday's 5-4 loss against the Dodgers. He allowed two inherited runners to score on a hit and no walks while striking out one over one-third of an inning.
With Pete Fairbanks (thumb) departing early, Phillips was thrust into a difficult spot with the bases loaded and one out in the ninth inning protecting a one-run lead, striking out Will Smith before allowing a two-run walk-off single to Kyle Tucker. Though Phillips was charged with a blown save, the brief outing didn't significantly impact his numbers, as the 28-year-old owns a 1.56 ERA and 1.38 WHIP with a 19:12 K:BB across 17.1 innings in 2026.
-
Yoshinobu Yamamoto LAD SP
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Shaky in no-decision
4h agoYamamoto did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks over five innings against the Marlins. He struck out four.
Yamamoto wasn't at his best, issuing a season-high four walks and allowing three earned runs for the second straight start, highlighted by a three-run homer from Liam Hicks in the fifth inning. The 27-year-old hurler hasn't generated strikeouts at his usual rate, posting a 7.7 K/9, and owns an even 2-2 record, though his overall numbers remain strong to start 2026 with a 2.87 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 37.2 innings (six starts). Yamamoto's next start is projected to come next week against the Astros.
-
Chris Paddack MIA SP
Marlins' Chris Paddack: Lasts four innings Monday
4h agoPaddack did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk over four innings against the Dodgers. He struck out one.
Paddack limited the damage after allowing two runs in the first inning but recorded just one strikeout and was pulled after four innings on 67 pitches. In his first season with the Marlins, the right-hander has struggled, posting an 0-4 record with a 6.11 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 28 innings (six appearances). His 26:7 K:BB is solid, but the results haven't followed, and Paddack will look to earn his first win of the campaign in his next start, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Phillies.

Moises Ballesteros CHC C
Cubs' Moises Ballesteros: Crushes grand slam in loss
4h agoBallesteros went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Monday's 9-7 loss against the Padres.
Ballesteros, making his second appearance of the season at catcher Monday, put the Cubs back in the game with a grand slam in the fourth inning to give his club the lead, though it wouldn't hold in a high-scoring loss. It has been a monster start to 2026 for the 22-year-old, who's slashing .387/.435/.710 with five homers, five doubles, 16 RBI and 12 runs across 25 games. Chicago has maximized his opportunities against right-handed pitching, with 57 of Ballesteros' 62 at-bats coming against righties.

Rudy Gobert MIN C
Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Neutralized in defeat
3m agoGobert posted three points (1-2 FG, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in 29 minutes during Monday's 125-113 loss to the Nuggets in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Gobert was able to pull down seven rebounds, but he made only two shot attempts and connected on one of them in the loss. A low point total isn't uncommon for the veteran, but his shot volume was conspicuously low. He's recorded fewer than three shot attempts just six times this season. Gobert has recorded a double-double during the series, so he has the ability to put the pieces together despite the imposing presence of Nikola Jokic. He'll need that improvement to keep the Nuggets from stealing another game.
-
Ayo Dosunmu MIN PG
Timberwolves' Ayo Dosunmu: Regressive impact in loss
11m agoDosunmu closed Monday's 125-113 loss to Denver in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 18 points (7-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one steal in 38 minutes.
The Timberwolves have relied heavily on Dosonmu amid absences from Anthony Edwards (knee) and Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles), and his results have often been the difference between victory and defeat. Although he was accurate from the floor, the Nuggets were successful in defending him and curtailing his production. A better result from Dosonmu will be essential in closing out this series.
-
Julius Randle MIN PF
Timberwolves' Julius Randle: Scores team-high 27 points in loss
16m agoRandle supplied 27 points (8-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 9-11 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Monday's 125-113 loss to Denver in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Randle carried a heavy load in the loss, as below-average totals from the rest of the starting five built up an unrecoverable deficit against the Nuggets. Unlike previous games in the series, Minnesota's defense was unable to restrict Nikola Jokic's production to an acceptable level, and the rest of the Nuggets provided balance behind the big man's masterful triple-double. Randle was able to find room on offense and did most of the work inside, while Rudy Gobert was rendered completely ineffective with only three points. The Timberwolves have successfully neutralized the Nuggets in the series, but they will need continued production from Randle and a better defensive effort to close out the series on Thursday.

Cameron Johnson DEN SF
Nuggets' Cameron Johnson: Steps up in Game 5 win
25m agoJohnson finished Monday's 125-113 win over Minnesota in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 18 points (8-13 FG, 2-7 3Pt), six rebounds, five assists and three steals over 36 minutes.
Johnson bounced back after tepid single-digit scoring totals in Games 3 and 4 against Minnesota. The trade for Johnson has been a net negative for the Nuggets. Michael Porter's voluminous totals this season with the Nets probably generate some buyer's remorse within the organization, but Monday's result was more in line with what was expected from the seventh-year pro. Denver has fallen behind in this series due to a lack of production from the supporting cast, and the balanced outcome from Johnson and Spencer Jones produced the desired result.
-
Spencer Jones DEN SF
Nuggets' Spencer Jones: Provides spark in fill-in role
36m agoJones closed with 20 points (7-9 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist, three blocks and three steals across 37 minutes during Monday's 125-113 victory over Minnesota in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Jones joined the starting five with Aaron Gordon (calf) out of commission, and the second-year pro recorded his second-highest scoring total of the season during the convincing victory. The Stanford product started in 37 of 64 games this season and has witnessed sharp increases in minutes, points, rebounds and assists during the 2025-26 campaign. Jones has finished with zero points twice during this series, and a return from Gordon in Game 6 could greatly diminish his fantasy prospects.
-
Jamal Murray DEN PG
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Posts 24 points in victory
43m agoMurray ended Monday's 125-113 win over Minnesota in Game 5 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 24 points (9-23 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, seven assists and four steals in 39 minutes.
Although Murray converted only 39.1 percent of his shots, his secondary numbers helped him record a solid fantasy total. Murray's four steals matched a season high, and he recorded seven assists for the third time in the first-round series. A more accurate shooting evening will be needed from Murray to increase the team's chances of advancing.

Karel Vejmelka UTA G
Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Tending twine in Game 4
10h agoVejmelka will patrol the home crease in Monday's Game 4 versus the Golden Knights, per Steve Carp of The Sporting Tribune.
Vejmelka will look to stay hot Monday after recording back-to-back wins in Game 2 and Game 3, respectively. He has now been called upon to start in all four games of Utah's first-round matchup. Vejmelka has fared well in the series with a 2-1-0 record, a 2.36 GAA and a .916 save percentage. With his 40th win between the regular season and playoffs behind him, the 29-year-old netminder will aim to win his ninth game over his last 12 outings dating back to March 28.

Emil Andrae PHI D
Flyers' Emil Andrae: Set to play Monday
13h agoAndrae (upper body) is good to play in Game 5 against Pittsburgh on Monday, per Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Andrae missed Philadelphia's past three games due to the injury. He had two goals and 13 points in 61 regular-season appearances. Noah Juulsen is set to be a healthy scratch Monday to accommodate Andrae's return.
-
Charles-Alexis Legault CAR D
Hurricanes' Charles-Alexis Legault: Recalled by Carolina
14h agoLegault was recalled from AHL Chicago on Monday.
Legault was sent to the minors in mid-April, but he'll join the Hurricanes ahead of their second-round series in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, it's not yet clear whether he'll remain with the Hurricanes once they resume play.
-
Dan Vladar PHI G
Flyers' Dan Vladar: Tending twine in Game 5
14h agoVladar will defend the road net in Game 5 against Pittsburgh on Monday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Vladar stopped 17 of 20 shots in Game 4's 4-2 loss to the Penguins on Saturday, with the fourth goal being an empty-netter. He has gone 3-1 this postseason, allowing only seven goals on 94 shots. The Flyers can advance to the second round of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs with one more victory.
-
Gabriel Landeskog COL LW
Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Contributes pair of helpers
17h agoLandeskog notched two assists, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Kings in Game 4.
Landeskog has four points over the last three games. He's added eight shots on net, 14 hits, four blocked shots, six PIM and a plus-4 rating over four playoff contests. The 33-year-old winger was officially on the third line Sunday, but he could be shuffled up to the top six if the Avalanche run into any injury troubles or other adversity in the later rounds of the postseason.
-
Devon Toews COL D
Avalanche's Devon Toews: Adds insurance tally
17h agoToews scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Kings in Game 4.
Toews has a three-game point streak going (one goal, two assists) after being held off the scoresheet in the playoff opener. He's added five blocked shots, two hits, four shots on net and a plus-3 rating. Toews is coming off his worst regular season since his rookie year -- he was limited to 24 points in 68 outings. The veteran blueliner is in the postseason for the eighth year in a row, and over the previous seven playoff runs, he accumulated 12 goals and 43 assists over 84 contests, production in line with his peak abilities during regular-season play.
