Dean Lowry PIT DE
Dean Lowry: Not officially back with Pittsburgh
5m agoLowry has now decided to take additional time to work his way back into shape after it was reported Sunday that he re-signed with the Steelers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Despite not taking a physical, Rapoport added that Lowry has been fully cleared to return from a knee injury that sidelined him for all of last season. The 2016 fourth-round pick from Northwestern spent his 2024 campaign with the Steelers, appearing in 12 games and recording five total tackles and one pass defensed across 177 total snaps (148 on defense, 29 on special teams).

John Rhys Plumlee PIT WR
John Rhys Plumlee: Out in Pittsburgh
15m agoPlumlee was waived by the Steelers on Tuesday, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
Plumlee signed a reserve/future contract with the Steelers' in January after spending some time on their practice squad during the 2025 season. However, it now appears Pittsburgh has decided to part ways with the UCF product. The 25-year-old has yet to appear in an NFL game as he continues to transition from quarterback to wide receiver.

Elijah Mitchell NE RB
Elijah Mitchell: Dropped by New England
22m agoThe Patriots released Mitchell on Tuesday, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
The 27-year-old running back from Louisiana inked a reserve/future contract with New England in early February, but it now appears the team has decided to move in another direction. Mitchell's last in-game action came with the Chiefs in 2025, when he appeared in one contest and failed to catch his lone target across seven offensive snaps.

Aaron Rodgers PIT QB
Steelers' Aaron Rodgers: Gets right-of-first-refusal tender
3h agoThe Steelers assigned Rodgers the right-of-first-refusal UFA tender Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Rodgers reportedly had not notified Pittsburgh of his plans for the 2026 season ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, in which the team added Drew Allar (ankle) in the third round to join Mason Rudolph and Will Howard in the quarterback room. The right-of-first-refusal tender means the Steelers will receive exclusive negotiation rights with Rodgers if he doesn't sign anywhere by July 22, per Schefter, or the start of the summer's first training camp if that date is earlier. Before that date, Rodgers remains free to sign with another team, though Pittsburgh would have the right of first refusal, and by all appearances the 42-year-old veteran intends to stick with the Steelers if he plays another season. Rodgers' tender would provide a 10 percent raise on the one-year, $13.65 million contract he played under in 2025.

Jalen Carter PHI DT
Eagles' Jalen Carter: Expensive fifth-year option
19h agoThe Eagles picked up Carter's fifth-year option Monday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The cost to maintain Carter's services through 2027 comes at a hefty $27 million. The defensive tackle earned Pro Bowl honors in both 2024 and 2025, adding value to his fifth-year option. Carter missed multiple games due to various injuries last season, as well as being ejected in Week 1 for an incident involving him spitting on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. When Carter was on the field, he produced 33 tackles (21 solo), including 3.0 sacks, and seven passes defensed over 12 regular-season games (really 11 since he was ejected before the first snap of Week 1).
-
Nolan Smith PHI LB
Eagles' Nolan Smith: Fifth-year option excercised
19h agoThe Eagles exercised Smith's fifth-year option Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Smith will earn another $13.7 million, guaranteeing his services to the Eagles through 2027. The linebacker is coming off a slightly disappointing season that was spoiled by a lingering triceps injury he originally suffered during training camp. Despite the issue, Smith still started 12 regular-season games, logging 31 tackles (15 solo), including 3.0 sacks. Headed into 2026 healthy, Smith will look to produce a year similar to his 2024 season (42 tackles, including 6.5 sacks), which would help greatly in long-term extension discussions with the organization.

Anthony Gose NYM RP
Royals' Anthony Gose: Links up with Royals
12m agoThe Royals signed Gose to a minor-league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.
Gose last pitched in the majors in 2024, when he made three appearances for Cleveland and allowed five earned runs over 4.1 frames. The left-hander split last season between the Mets and Diamondbacks organizations and had a combined 4.62 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 41:23 K:BB across 37 Triple-A innings.
-
Juan Brito CLE SS
Guardians' Juan Brito: Optioned to Triple-A
13m agoThe Guardians optioned Brito to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.
Brito didn't do much during his first stint in the majors, slashing .176/.250/.255 with a 30.4 percent strikeout rate. He's exiting the roster to clear space for the arrival of Travis Bazzana, who will take over as Cleveland's starting second baseman.
-
Travis Bazzana CLE 2B
Guardians' Travis Bazzana: Summoned for MLB debut
15m agoThe Guardians selected Bazzana's contract from Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.
News broke Monday night about Bazzana's impending promotion, and the transaction is now official. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Bazzana has earned a promotion after slashing .287/.422/.511 with two home runs, 10 RBI, eight stolen bases and 18 runs scored over his first 24 contests with Columbus. Bazzana will take over as the Guardians' primary second baseman.

Spencer Strider ATL SP
Braves' Spencer Strider: Not starting this weekend
38m agoStrider (oblique) isn't expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list to make his season debut this weekend in Colorado and is poised to instead continue his minor-league rehab assignment, Lindsay Crosby of BravesToday.com reports.
Strider threw 82 pitches over five innings Sunday for Triple-A Gwinnett in his third rehab start, and he's apparently not quite ready to enter the big-league rotation after previously being expected to face the Rockies this weekend. No setback has been reported, so it's possible Atlanta just wants to avoid the right-hander making his season debut at the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field. Strider's first MLB start of 2026 now appears likely to come next week, potentially against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

Braxton Ashcraft PIT P
Pirates' Braxton Ashcraft: Expected back for Tuesday's start
1h agoAshcraft (personal) is expected to be activated from the bereavement list in time to start Tuesday's game versus the Cardinals, Jose Negron of DK Pittsburgh Sports reports.
Ashcraft was placed on the bereavement list Saturday, but he will not have to miss a start, only getting his turn pushed back one day. The young right-hander is sitting on a 2.43 ERA and 32:9 K:BB over his first 29.2 innings this season and is a must-start against a lackluster Cardinals lineup.
-
Kyle Freeland COL SP
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: On cusp of activation
2h agoFreeland (shoulder) threw a bullpen session with no issues Sunday and is expected to be reinstated from the injured list during the three-game series against the Reds that begins Tuesday, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports.
The Rockies have yet to announce their starting pitcher for Tuesday's series opener, and Freeland is likely being considered to take the mound, though he could also start later in the series. The veteran left-hander landed on the shelf with shoulder inflammation after allowing one run over 6.1 innings versus Houston on April 7. Freeland could face some minor workload restrictions in his first start back since he didn't embark on a rehab assignment, but the brevity of the absence should mean he isn't significantly limited whenever he does take the mound.

Isaiah Stewart DET PF
Pistons' Isaiah Stewart: Swats eight shots in loss
27m agoStewart amassed eight points (3-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-3 FT), three rebounds, one assist and eight blocks across 17 minutes during Monday's 94-88 loss to the Magic in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Stewart was a bright spot for the Pistons with a career-high eight swats in very limited action. With Detroit facing a 3-1 series deficit, Stewart made a strong case to be more involved going forward.
-
Paolo Banchero ORL PF
Magic's Paolo Banchero: Struggles in Game 4 win
39m agoBanchero closed with 18 points (4-18 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 10-13 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 40 minutes during Monday's 94-88 win over the Pistons in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Banchero had a brutal night shooting the ball, but he piled on the aggression with 13 free-throw attempts. With Franz Wagner's (calf) status in the air going forward, the Magic will likely need to continue to rely heavily on Banchero.
-
Jamal Cain ORL SF
Magic's Jamal Cain: Fares well off bench
1h agoCain supplied eight points (4-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and nine rebounds in 24 minutes during Monday's 94-88 win over Detroit in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Cain had a strong showing off the bench and was all over the highlight reels for his monster slam over Jalen Duren. If Franz Wagner (calf) is forced to miss time, Cain looks like someone the Magic will lean on along with possibly Tristan da Silva.
-
Caris LeVert DET SG
Pistons' Caris LeVert: Held to two points in loss
1h agoLeVert registered two points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 25 minutes during Monday's 94-88 loss to the Magic in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
LeVert saw the largest workload among the reserves for Detroit, but he wasn't able to find much success. He has struggled overall in this series, shooting 25.0 percent from beyond the arc with 2.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 11.8 minutes per contest.
-
Cade Cunningham DET SG
Pistons' Cade Cunningham: Struggles in Game 4 loss
1h agoCunningham produced 25 points (7-23 FG, 3-11 3Pt, 8-10 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and two blocks in 39 minutes during Monday's 94-88 loss to the Magic in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
The No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference is now staring at a 3-1 series deficit. Cunningham's counting stats have been terrific with 29.5 points, 7.5 assists and 6.3 rebounds, but he's also averaging 6.8 turnovers while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from beyond the arc.
-
Devin Booker PHO SG
Suns' Devin Booker: Puts up 24 points in Game 4
2h agoBooker registered 24 points (8-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 7-9 FT), six assists and one block in 41 minutes during Monday's 131-122 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Booker was unable to pull a game back for the Suns as the season came to an end Monday night. Playing in his 11th NBA campaign, Booker compiled regular-season averages of 26.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.9 three-pointers in 33.5 minutes per contest.
-
Connor Ingram EDM G
Oilers' Connor Ingram: Back in net for Game 5
9m agoIngram is drawing the start for Tuesday's Game 5 at home versus the Ducks, according to Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels.
The Oilers are turning back to Ingram on the cusp of elimination after Tristan Jarry played in Sunday's Game 4 loss. Ingram won the first game of this series, but he has been blitzed for 14 goals on 93 shots through three outings against the Ducks in the 2026 postseason, posting an .849 save percentage and a 4.70 GAA in the process. The Oilers have a couple of moving parts for Game 5, as Connor McDavid (undisclosed) and Jason Dickinson (lower body) are game-time decisions.
-
Jason Dickinson EDM C
Oilers' Jason Dickinson: Game-time decision again
10m agoDickinson (lower body) will be a game-time decision against Anaheim on Tuesday in Game 5, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.
Dickinson didn't participate in Tuesday's morning skate and has been a game-time decision for most of the opening round of the playoffs because of a lingering injury. He has provided two goals and one assist in two appearances against the Ducks this postseason.
-
Connor McDavid EDM C
Oilers' Connor McDavid: Labeled game-time call
10m agoMcDavid was deemed a game-time decision ahead of Tuesday's Game 5 matchup with the Ducks due to an undisclosed injury, Mark Spector of Sportsnet reports.
McDavid didn't take part in Tuesday's morning skate and has now been classified as day-to-day by head coach Kris Kloblauch. While it seems unlikely the world-class center would miss a playoff game unless absolutely necessary, fantasy managers will now need to monitor his status in the lead-up to Game 5. If McDavid were to be unavailable, Leon Draisaitl figures to anchor the top line for the Oilers.
-
Colton Dach EDM C
Oilers' Colton Dach: Present at Tuesday's morning skate
21m agoDach (illness) was on the ice for Tuesday's morning skate, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports, which indicates he will be an option for Game 5 against the Ducks.
Dach missed Game 4 due to his illness. Should he draw into the lineup Tuesday, Josh Samanski or Curtis Lazar will likely serve as a healthy scratch. Dach doled out 13 hits over the first two matchups of this series, but he registered only two in Game 3.
-
Alex Lyon BUF G
Sabres' Alex Lyon: Starting Game 5
27m agoLyon will start Tuesday's Game 5 at home against the Bruins, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
Lyon has picked up wins in each of his last two starts, posting a 1.00 GAA and .959 save percentage during that time. He'll draw a third consecutive start Tuesday as the Sabres attempt to close out the first-round series.
-
Josh Norris BUF C
Sabres' Josh Norris: Won't play in Game 5
32m agoNorris (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup for Game 5 against Boston on Tuesday, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
Norris participated in Tuesday's morning skate and feels much better, but he will miss his third straight game. Head coach Lindy Ruff said Norris was "available" to play following Tuesday's session, but the 26-year-old forward is still on Buffalo's injury report. That suggests Norris may not be fully healthy despite potentially being an option to return to the lineup.
