The 49ers announced Friday that they have released LS Ryan Pontbriand. Pontbriand was signed on Feb 23 to compete with Brian Jennings, who was named to the Pro Bowl last season. Pontbriand spent his first nine seasons in the NFL with Cleveland and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2007 and 2008.
