Flames' Zach Whitecloud: Slides helper in win
Whitecloud logged an assist in Friday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Whitecloud set up a Matthew Coronato goal early in the third period. The helper was Whitecloud's first point of the season. The 29-year-old is in a tough role this year, filling top-four minutes as a shutdown defenseman on a rebuilding team. He's piled up 13 shots on net, 18 hits, 22 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating across 13 appearances. He's never had a 20-point regular season in the NHL, so he won't score his way into the mix for fantasy.

Flames' Aydar Suniev: Scores in Friday's win
Suniev scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Friday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Suniev capitalized on a turnover in the second period to give the Flames a 2-1 lead. The 21-year-old winger has played regularly since his Oct. 7 call-up, earning four goals, one assist, 18 shots on net, 11 hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 10 appearances. He's filling a middle-six role with power-play time, but it'll likely take time before he's producing at a level that would make him reliable in fantasy.

Flames' Ryan Strome: Deposits goal Friday
Strome scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Strome has scored twice over the last four contests. The 33-year-old forward is filling a middle-six role this season and seeing some power-play time. He looks to be more of a complementary scorer in the Flames' offense, earning five points, 32 shots on net and a minus-4 rating across 13 appearances to begin the season.

Flames' Matvei Gridin: Collects pair of points
Gridin scored a power-play goal on five shots and added an assist in Friday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Gridin picked up his third multi-point effort in the last four games. The 20-year-old has really settled into a top-six role for the Flames after struggling to start the season. He's up to five goals, five assists, 31 shots on net and a minus-4 rating across 13 appearances. Keep an eye on Gridin as an offense-only depth option in fantasy.

Flames' Morgan Frost: Logs two points in win
Frost scored a power-play goal, dished an assist and added two hits in Friday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Frost had been held off the scoresheet in the previous two games. The 27-year-old center continues to play an important role as a middle-six forward and a power-play option. He's up to four goals, five helpers, 25 shots on net, nine hits, eight blocked shots and a minus-9 rating over 13 appearances. With few solid scoring options available in Calgary, Frost will get plenty of opportunities to contribute this year.

Flames' Joel Farabee: Racks up three more points
Farabee scored a goal and added two power-play assists in Friday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Farabee has multiple points in three of his last four games, and he's scored in four of his last five outings as well. The 26-year-old winger is living up to the top-six assignment he's been given this season. He has four goals, 10 assists, 30 shots on net, nine blocked shots, seven hits, eight PIM and a minus-2 rating across 13 contests. Farabee looks like he could be the Flames' best forward this season, though it's likely too much to expect the point-per-game pace to last.

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Gets back in win column
Wolf stopped 20 of 22 shots in Friday's 6-2 win over the Kraken.
Wolf put in a good performance and got plenty of help from his offense to earn his first win since Oct. 13. He had seemingly lost the starting job to Devin Cooley (lower body), but Wolf will be the starter again while Cooley is on injured reserve. Wolf is 2-4-0 with a 4.39 GAA and an .847 save percentage over seven games this season, so he has a long way to go to earn back trust with fantasy managers. The Flames' next game is in Colorado on Saturday. It's not yet clear if they'll have Wolf start consecutive days or give Arsenii Sergeev his second career game in one of the toughest matchups in the league.

Flames' Connor Zary: Undergoes knee surgery
Zary underwent successful knee surgery Thursday and will be out week-to-week.
Zary was sent down in early October, and he's spent the last several weeks at AHL Calgary. Across six appearances with the Wranglers to begin the regular season, he's recorded a goal, three assists and a minus-1 rating, but he now faces a long-term absence as he recovers from his procedure.

Flames' Brennan Othmann: Won't play Friday
Othmann (upper body) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Kraken, Pat Steinberg of QR Calgary 770 AM reports.
Othmann sustained an upper-body injury in the first period of Wednesday's game against the Oilers. Maxim Tsyplakov will take his place in the lineup against Seattle.

Flames' Devin Cooley: Placed on injured reserve
Cooley (lower body) was placed on injured reserve by the Flames on Friday, Pat Steinberg of QR Calgary 770 AM reports.
Cooley was pulled from Wednesday's loss to the Oilers after one period due to his lower-body injury, and he's considered week-to-week after landing on injured reserve. Dustin Wolf will start Friday's home game against Seattle and figures to operate as the Flames' primary netminder in Cooley's absence, while Arsenii Sergeev was recalled from AHL Calgary on Friday.

Flames' Arsenii Sergeev: Recalled by Calgary
Sergeev was recalled from AHL Calgary on Friday.
Sergeev got his first taste of NHL action late last season, and he'll rejoin the Flames ahead of Friday's game against the Kraken. Dustin Wolf has already been named the starter against Seattle, but Sergeev's promotion suggests that Devin Cooley (lower body) may be unavailable as a backup. Across six appearances in the AHL to begin the regular season, Sergeev has gone 4-2-0 with a 2.86 GAA and .907 save percentage.

Flames' William Stromgren: Called up Friday
Stromgren was recalled from AHL Calgary on Friday.
Stromgren was sent down by the Flames ahead of the regular season, but he'll rejoin the NHL club to provide additional depth while Brennan Othmann (upper body), Jonathan Huberdeau (hip) and Samuel Honzek (lower body) are sidelined. Stromgren made his first three regular-season appearances at the NHL level last year, and he was held scoreless with two shots on goal while averaging 7:17 of ice time.

Wolf will start Friday's home game against the Kraken, Pat Steinberg of QR Calgary 770 AM reports.
Wolf entered Wednesday's game against the Oilers at the start of the second period after Devin Cooley (lower body) exited the matchup. It's not yet clear whether Cooley will be available to dress as the backup for Friday's matchup, but Wolf will draw his first start since Oct. 15. Across six appearances to begin the regular season, he's gone 1-4-0 with a 4.81 GAA and .839 save percentage.

Flames' Dustin Wolf: Allows three goals in relief appearance
Wolf stopped 20 of 23 shots in Wednesday's 4-0 loss to the Oilers after replacing an injured Devin Cooley (lower body).
Wolf entered after Cooley sustained a lower-body injury late in the first period and surrendered three goals over the final two frames. Cooley's injury could create additional starting opportunities for Wolf, but his performances this season have been far from encouraging. While Cooley was the starter during the Flames' recent four-game winning streak, Wolf owns a 4.81 GAA and an .839 save percentage across six appearances this season.

Flames' Brennan Othmann: Hurt in first period Wednesday
Othmann (upper body) was injured in Wednesday's game versus the Oilers.
Othmann came away from a fight a little worse for wear. The 23-year-old winger was playing in his fifth straight game, though he's not a lock to remain in the lineup even if he recovers from this injury quickly. Maxim Tsyplakov would likely replace Othmann if the latter can't suit up Friday versus the Kraken.
