J.T. Realmuto PHI C
Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Battling illness
9m agoRealmuto has been under the weather the past few days but could return to the Phillies' Grapefruit League lineup Tuesday against the Twins, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Realmuto has a .786 OPS through 19 plate appearances during spring training, so the illness shouldn't affect his availability for the start of the regular season. The 34-year-old is coming off a 2025 regular season that saw him post his worst OPS (.699) since his second MLB campaign in 2015.
-
Gavin Stone LAD SP
Dodgers' Gavin Stone: Nearing return to throwing
12m agoStone (shoulder) said Sunday that he hopes to begin playing catch next week, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
The right-hander was shut down in early March after being diagnosed with inflammation in his surgically repaired right shoulder, so it will take him some time to build his arm back up. Stone is hoping he can get back to mound work within the next month, which will likely push his return timeline into May, at least.

Marcelo Mayer BOS SS
Red Sox's Marcelo Mayer: Should return Tuesday
17m agoMayer (knee) is expected to rejoin Boston's Grapefruit League lineup Tuesday against Atlanta, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
The 22-year-old was scratched from Sunday's spring lineup due to left knee soreness and will rest again Monday, but the injury doesn't appear to be a serious concern. After posting a .674 OPS in 44 regular-season games as a rookie last season, Mayer's .816 OPS through 27 plate appearances in spring training put him in strong position to win the starting job at second base to begin 2026.
-
Jake Woodford TB SP
Rays' Jake Woodford: Bound for minor-league camp
30m agoThe Rays reassigned Woodford to minor-league camp Sunday.
Woodford wasn't able to secure a long-relief role with the Rays heading into Opening Day, but he'll provide some valuable organizational pitching depth at Triple-A Durham, where he could be deployed either out of the bullpen or in the rotation. The 29-year-old righty made 22 appearances in the majors with Arizona in 2025, finishing with a 6.44 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 23:13 K:BB in 36.1 innings.
-
Thomas Hatch ARI RP
Diamondbacks' Thomas Hatch: Falls short in roster bid
37m agoThe Diamondbacks reassigned Hatch to minor-league camp Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.
Hatch joined Arizona on a minor-league deal in January after he spent the 2025 season in the Royals and Twins organizations, logging a 5.82 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 22:17 K:BB over 34 big-league innings between the two stops. After the right-hander was unable to win a spot on Arizona's Opening Day roster, he'll likely serve as a swingman at Triple-A Reno to begin the 2026 campaign.
-
Bryce Jarvis ARI RP
Diamondbacks' Bryce Jarvis: Dropped from big-league camp
42m agoThe Diamondbacks reassigned Jarvis to minor-league camp Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.
Jarvis made 12 appearances at the big-league level for Arizona in 2025, submitting a 5.73 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB in 22 innings. He was outrighted off the 40-man roster in December and now appears set to open the season at Triple-A Reno after he was unable to break camp with a spot in the Diamondbacks bullpen.

Willie MacIver TEX C
Rangers' Willie MacIver: Misses out on Opening Day roster
4h agoThe Rangers optioned MacIver to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.
Texas looks set to head into Opening Day with Danny Jansen and Kyle Higashioka (back) as its two backstops, but MacIver should be first in line for a call-up if the Rangers require another catcher at any point. The 29-year-old made his big-league debut last season for the Athletics, slashing .186/.252/.324 with three home runs and three stolen bases over 111 plate appearances.
-
Gustavo Campero LAA C
Angels' Gustavo Campero: Demoted to minor-league camp
6h agoThe Angels reassigned Campero to minor-league camp Saturday.
Campero logged 66 plate appearances over 28 games in the majors 2025, but with the Angels outfield in good health as Opening Day approaches, he never seemed to have much of a chance at breaking camp with the big club. The 28-year-old is likely to begin the season at Triple-A Salt Lake, where he'll likely take on an everyday role.
-
Dillon Dingler DET C
Tigers' Dillon Dingler: Off to slow start
7h agoDingler, who went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays, is batting just .188 through seven exhibition contests.
The start to Dingler's spring was delayed after undergoing arthroscopic right elbow surgery in the offseason. So far, the catcher has looked a bit sluggish offensively, but the key thing is that he's seeing regular game action heading into the regular season. Dingler had an impressive 2025 with a .278/.327/.425 slash line and 13 home runs across 126 regular-season contests, and he should be Detroit's clear No. 1 backstop this year with Jake Rogers in a reserve role.
-
Shea Langeliers ATH C
Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Trio of homers in spring win
7h agoLangeliers went 3-for-3 with three solo homers in Saturday's Cactus League win over the Royals.
Langeliers was locked in at the plate, going yard in each of his three at-bats, all of which came against Ryan Bergert. Fresh off a breakout 2025 campaign in which he slugged 32 doubles and 31 homers with an .861 OPS in 123 games, the catcher has continued to rake in Cactus League play, slashing .351/.429/.919 with six homers, three doubles and 11 RBI across 15 appearances.
-
Joe Mack MIA C
Marlins' Joe Mack: Optioned to Triple-A
8h agoThe Marlins optioned Mack to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.
The 23-year-old is one of Miami's top prospects, but he struggled to a .472 OPS across nine spring games and will open the campaign at Triple-A. Mack spent most of 2025 with Jacksonville and totaled 18 home runs and seven steals with a .786 OPS in 98 contests.
-
Justin Foscue TEX 1B
Rangers' Justin Foscue: Back in spring lineup
2h agoFoscue (hamstring) will serve as the Rangers' designated hitter and No. 7 batter in Sunday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers.
Foscue will check back into the Rangers' spring lineup for the first time since Feb. 23, after a strained right hamstring had kept him out of action for just under three weeks. The 27-year-old will still need to prove that the hamstring injury doesn't present any problems for him defensively in order to win a utility gig on the Rangers' Opening Day roster, but he could still find himself on the outside looking in for a spot. Foscue has a minor-league option remaining, so the Rangers could send him to Triple-A Round Rock to begin the season in order for him to receive everyday at-bats.
-
Bryce Eldridge SF 1B
Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Battling strikeouts this spring
2h agoEldridge went 0-for-1 in Saturday's 8-7 Cactus League loss to the Diamondbacks.
Eldridge pinch hit in the ninth inning and struck out swinging, marking the 15th time he's struck out across 42 plate appearances this spring. Through 16 Cactus League outings, he's slashing .235/.381/.500 with seven runs scored, five RBI, four doubles and one home run. The 21-year-old made his big-league debut last September and could see playing time at DH for the Giants early in the season. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see him open the campaign in Triple-A Sacramento to get regular reps that may be harder to come by in the majors.
-
Matt Mervis WAS 1B
Nationals' Matt Mervis: Cut from big-league camp
4h agoThe Nationals reassigned Mervis to minor-league camp Friday.
Mervis has had a busy spring, going 3-for-12 with a 2:5 BB:K over seven Grapefruit League games and 3-for-11 with a pair of doubles over three games for Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic. The 27-year-old still wasn't able to make the Nationals' Opening Day roster, despite Washington having a glaring need for power production at first base. After struggling mightily during his time in the majors with the Marlins in 2025, Mervis will likely need a hot start at Triple-A Rochester to garner any serious consideration for a promotion to Washington.
-
Christian Walker HOU 1B
Astros' Christian Walker: Homers Friday
1d agoWalker went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's Grapefruit League matchup against the Cardinals.
It's a positive sign for Walker, who was ice cold to start the spring, going just 1-for-16 in his first eight Grapefruit League contests. While his name came up in trade rumors this offseason, the 34-year-old Walker is poised to open the year as Houston's starting first baseman again. He slashed .238/.297/.421 with 27 homers and 88 RBI across 640 plate appearances last season.
-
Kody Clemens MIN 1B
Twins' Kody Clemens: No clear path to regular role
2d agoClemens doesn't appear to have a set regular role in the lineup with the Twins signing Josh Bell and with several left-handed outfielders on the roster, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Clemens began the offseason looking like the team's starter at first base or at least the left-handed part of a platoon at the position. However, the Twins may not want to use Trevor Larnach in the outfield rather than DH against lefties, which would move Bell to first base, and Luke Keaschall looks set to play second base. Clemens hit .216/.284/.442 with 19 home runs last season in a breakout season and made significant strides in his batted-ball metrics with a 48.3 percent hard-hit rate and 12 percent barrel rate. His ability to play second base and first base should help find ways to get him into the lineup eventually, but he may find few at-bats early in the season unless the Twins trade a left-handed-hitting outfielder.
-
Jorge Polanco NYM 1B
Mets' Jorge Polanco: Swats second spring homer
2d agoPolanco went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals.
The 32-year-old took Michael McGreevy deep in the first inning for the Mets' only run of the afternoon. Polanco is adjusting to a new defensive position at first base, but so far it hasn't impacted him at the plate, and through five spring appearances he's gone 4-for-12 with two homers and a 2:4 BB:K.
-
Ji-Hwan Bae NYM 2B
Mets' Ji Hwan Bae: Cut from big-league camp
5h agoThe Mets reassigned Bae to minor-league camp Sunday.
Briefly a member of the Mets' 40-man roster in the offseason after being claimed off waivers in November, Bae was outrighted in January and attended spring training as a non-roster invitee. Despite posting an .871 OPS in Grapefruit League play in addition to providing plenty of speed and the ability to play all three outfield spots, Bae was unable to secure a spot on the Mets' Opening Day roster. He should get the chance to play regularly at Triple-A Syracuse in 2026.
-
Adam Frazier LAA 2B
Angels' Adam Frazier: Looks to be in lead for 2B job
6h agoFrazier appears to be the leading candidate to open the season as the Angels' top second baseman after Christian Moore and Kyren Paris were optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
The Angels thinned the competition further by reassigning Nick Madrigal to minor-league camp, leaving Frazier, Oswald Peraza and Vaughn Grissom (hand) as the main contenders for playing time at the keystone. Peraza's and Grissom's chances of making the Opening Day roster are aided by the fact that neither has minor-league options remaining, but as the lone left-handed hitter of the trio, Frazier -- who is attending camp as a non-roster invitee -- may actually have better odds of seeing the bulk of the at-bats at second base to begin the season. A career .264 hitter, Frazier possesses strong contact skills, but his lack of power and modest speed limits his overall fantasy appeal. The 34-year-old hasn't logged more than 500 plate appearances in a season since 2022 and isn't a good bet to hold down a regular starting job throughout the campaign. Expect Frazier to eventually shift into a utility role once the Angels decide that Moore is ready for an extended run as their everyday second baseman.
-
Jonathan India KC 2B
Royals' Jonathan India: Resting with groin injury
8h agoIndia (groin) will receive a few days off as a precautionary measure, MLB.com reports.
India left Friday's Cactus League game due to right groin tightness but reportedly felt fine Saturday. He's been cleared for activity, though the Royals will err on the side of caution and hold the second baseman out of Sunday's contest before an off day Monday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. This development helps ease concerns about India's availability for Opening Day, as the 29-year-old will look to carry a strong spring at the plate into a bounce-back 2026 campaign after a lackluster 2025 in which he slashed .233/.323/.346 with 29 doubles, nine home runs and 45 RBI across 136 games.
-
Hye Seong Kim LAD 2B
Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim: Plays in WBC on Friday
22h agoKim (hand) went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts Friday in Team Korea's 10-0 loss to Team Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic.
Kim hurt his hand while stealing a base last Sunday versus Team Chinese Taipei and sat out Monday against Team Australia. However, the injury was always considered minor, and Kim's return to the lineup Saturday indicates that the Dodgers' utility man isn't at risk of missing more time. In fact, manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Kim will be in Los Angeles' lineup Sunday versus the Cubs, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. Team Korea was eliminated from the WBC with the loss Friday, and Kim went 1-for-12 with three RBI, six strikeouts and two walks during the tournament.
-
Nolan Gorman STL 2B
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Heating up in Grapefruit League
1d agoGorman went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's Grapefruit League contest versus the Marlins.
Gorman led off the top of the fourth inning with a blast off of Ryan Gusto. It's the third home run this spring for Gorman, who has reached base five times in his last two contests. Perhaps most encouragingly, he's also sporting a 4:5 BB:K. Gorman is set to be the Cardinals' primary third baseman this season and offers big power potential, albeit with lots of batting average risk.
-
Hye Seong Kim LAD 2B
Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim: Expected to play Sunday
1d agoDodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Saturday that he expects Kim (hand) to be back in the lineup for Sunday's Cactus League game against the Cubs, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Kim injured his left hand against Team Australia on March 8 while playing for Team Korea during the World Baseball Classic. The good news for Kim is that the injury isn't considered a long-term issue, and if he is able to return to the lineup Sunday, then there would be no concern of him being sidelined for the start of the 2026 season. Kim appeared in 71 regular-season games for the Dodgers in 2025, finishing with a .699 OPS with 13 steals (on 14 attempts), three home runs and 17 RBI over 170 plate appearances. Kim is projected to make the Dodgers' Opening Day roster as a utility man.
-
Jonah Bride TEX 3B
Rangers' Jonah Bride: Falls short of Opening Day roster
4h agoThe Rangers reassigned Bride to minor-league camp Sunday.
Bride had been competing for a utility spot on the Rangers' Opening Day roster but didn't help his case by slashing an underwhelming .226/.368/.290 over 38 plate appearances. The 30-year-old infielder is likely to begin the campaign at Triple-A Round Rock.
-
Trey Lipscomb WAS 3B
Nationals' Trey Lipscomb: Dismissed from big-league camp
4h agoThe Nationals reassigned Lipscomb to minor-league camp Friday.
Lipscomb has logged 214 plate appearances in the big leagues with the Nationals over the past two seasons, but he'll have a tougher time resurfacing in the majors in 2026 after Washington outrighted him off the 40-man roster in November. He'll open the season at Triple-A Rochester and should see ample playing time between multiple infield and outfield spots.
-
Graham Pauley MIA 3B
Marlins' Graham Pauley: Nearing full clearance
5h agoPauley (forearm), who is batting sixth as the designated hitter in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros, is expected to play defense in spring games next weekend, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
The 25-year-old recently progressed to playing defense in back field games but still needs a bit more time before doing so in Grapefruit League action. Pauley has been limited to serving as a designated hitter while working his way back from forearm tightness. The injury hasn't notably affected his production at the plate this spring, as he has a .316/.409/.474 slash line with a double, a triple and a steal in seven games.
-
Andrew Fischer MIL 3B
Brewers' Andrew Fischer: Flashing in WBC
6h agoFischer went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI for the Italian team in Saturday's WBC game.
Fischer has not seen action above the High-A level since being selected by the Brewers in the first round of the 2025 MLB Draft, but he just missed a grand slam in Saturday's contest and owns a 1.235 OPS in the WBC. He is already one of the top prospects in baseball and will turn 22 years old in May, so he could rise rapidly through Milwaukee's system.
-
Jonathon Long CHC 3B
Cubs' Jonathon Long: Back in action Saturday
7h agoLong (elbow) went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Saturday's Cactus League game against the Rockies.
After facing live pitchers in a side session Friday, Long returned to game action a day later for the first time since late February. The 24-year-old sprained his elbow attempting to reach for a wide throw to first base, but he sustained no structural damage, and he now looks fully good to go after a few weeks of rehab work. Long is expected to begin the regular season with Triple-A Iowa and give the Cubs some depth with high upside behind Michael Busch.
-
Tristin English ATL 3B
Braves' Tristin English: Denied Opening Day roster spot
7h agoAtlanta reassigned English to minor-league camp Saturday.
English reached the majors for the first time in 2025 as a member of the Diamondbacks, appearing in seven games while going 2-for-22 at the dish. After being outrighted off the 40-man roster in August and becoming a free agent in the offseason, English signed with Atlanta on a minor-league deal that included an invitation to spring training. While he wasn't able to secure a bench spot on Atlanta's Opening Day roster, English should get the chance to play on a near-everyday basis at Triple-A Gwinnett to begin the season.

-
Marco Luciano NYY SS
Yankees' Marco Luciano: Fails to make Opening Day roster
1h agoThe Yankees reassigned Luciano to minor-league camp Sunday.
Once a prized prospect in the Giants organization, Luciano's luster has dimmed while he's shown limitations and defensively and has slashed a collective .217/.286/.304 over 126 plate appearances across multiple abbreviated stints in the majors. He was claimed off waivers by two other organizations this winter before landing with the Yankees, who outrighted him off the 40-man roster in February. After he was unable to win a spot on the Yankees' Opening Day squad, Luciano should be ticketed for a full-time role at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season.
-
Francisco Lindor NYM SS
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Not yet committing to Opening Day
2h agoLindor (hand) played four innings while making his spring debut in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays, but afterwards he wouldn't yet commit to being ready for Opening Day despite saying that he has "checked every single box," Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The 32-year-old went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a strikeout while playing his four scheduled innings at shortstop in his first game action since undergoing surgery in mid-February to repair a fractured hamate bone in his left hand. Lindor will continue ramping up toward playing a full game, and he certainly appears to be trending toward being available for the start of the regular season, even though that's not yet official.
-
Christian Koss SF SS
Giants' Christian Koss: Multi-hit effort in spring loss
3h agoKoss went 2-for-3 with a run scored in Saturday's 8-7 Cactus League loss to the Diamondbacks.
Koss singled in the fourth inning and came around to score before adding another single in the sixth. He's gotten on base frequently through 13 Cactus League appearances, slashing .423/.545/.423 with six runs scored, six RBI and a stolen base across 33 plate appearances during that span. The 28-year-old appears likely to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster in a utility role after making his big-league debut with the Giants last season, though Tyler Fitzgerald remains in the mix.
-
Jeremy Pena HOU SS
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Doing limited baseball work
3h agoPena (finger) is sprinting, swinging with one hand and fielding groundballs, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
The 28-year-old was diagnosed with a fracture in the tip of his right ring finger in early March, sidelining him for the World Baseball Classic and putting his availability for Opening Day into question. Pena's current participation in baseball activities is encouraging, and at this point he just awaiting clearance to throw and swing with both hands. Once fully cleared, the shortstop doesn't expect to need many at-bats before being ready for MLB action, so he still has a chance to be ready by Opening Day.
-
Trevor Story BOS SS
Red Sox's Trevor Story: Having workload monitored
4h agoThe Red Sox are monitoring Story's workload this spring and will continue to do so during the regular season, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Story is being held out of the lineup Sunday for a third consecutive game, but the Red Sox are merely exercising caution with the 33-year-old. The club plans to give him a little more rest in 2026 after Story, who missed significant time in the first three years of the contract he signed with Boston in 2022, played 160 games last year.
-
Joshua Lowe LAA RF
Angels' Josh Lowe: Strikes out three times in return
2h agoLowe (oblique) served as the Angels' designated hitter and went 0-for-3 with a walk and three strikeouts in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Mariners in Cactus League play.
Lowe checked back into the spring lineup for the first time since Feb. 25, after a sore left oblique kept him out of action. The Angels eased Lowe back in by having him serve as a DH, but he should get some exposure to the corner outfield in the coming days. Lowe has just one hit through 10 at-bats in the Cactus League, but regardless of how he performs over the rest of the spring, he's likely to begin the season in a strong-side platoon role for the Angels.
-
Drew Avans COL OF
Rockies' Drew Avans: Sent out of big-league camp
2h agoThe Rockies reassigned Avans to minor-league camp Sunday.
Avans logged 18 appearances at the big-league level between the Athletics and Brewers in 2025, but he never appeared to be a serious threat to break camp with the Rockies while attending spring training as a non-roster invitee. He'll serve as organizational outfield depth at Triple-A Albuquerque during the upcoming season.
-
Corbin Carroll ARI LF
Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Nearing return to defense
2h agoManager Torey Lovullo said Sunday that Carroll (hand) is expected to play the outfield in games Wednesday or Thursday, likely in a backfield game, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.
Carroll is making his third appearance of spring training Sunday at designated hitter, and he should be cleared to play the outfield after just a few more days. The 25-year-old underwent surgery in mid-February to repair the hamate bone in his right hand, but he's progressed quickly through his rehab program. Barring a setback, Carroll should be ready to start in right field Opening Day for the Diamondbacks.
-
Jace LaViolette CLE OF
Guardians' Jace LaViolette: Makes spring debut
2h agoLaViolette (hand) struck out in his lone at-bat and played two innings in left field in Saturday's 8-5 loss to the Padres in Cactus League play.
Though LaViolette hasn't been taking part in spring training with the big club, the Guardians opted to bring him aboard for Saturday's game to serve as an extra option in the outfield. A first-round pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft, LaViolette didn't see any game action after being selected last summer while he recovered from a cleanup procedure on his left hand, but he appears to be heading into 2026 with a clean bill of health. The 22-year-old outfielder is likely to open the season at Single-A Hill City.
-
Will Brennan SF RF
Giants' Will Brennan: Logs RBI in spring loss
3h agoBrennan started at center field and went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 8-7 Cactus League loss to the Diamondbacks.
After reaching base on a fielder's choice in the second inning and coming around to score, Brennan added an RBI single in the third but was caught trying to steal second. Through 15 Cactus League outings, he's recorded eight runs scored, six RBI and four home runs while slashing .379/.455/.483 across 33 plate appearances. Following an injury-riddled 2025 campaign in which he underwent Tommy John surgery in June and sports hernia surgery in September, the 28-year-old outfielder signed a major-league deal with San Francisco in mid-February. The left-handed hitter is expected to operate as the Giants' fourth outfielder this season.
-
Lawrence Butler ATH CF
Athletics' Lawrence Butler: Eyeing Tuesday for spring debut
3h agoThe Athletics are planning on having Butler (knees) make his Cactus League debut Tuesday versus the White Sox, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Butler's spring debut has been delayed while the Athletics have eased him along slowly during camp after he underwent surgery on his right knee in October to repair a torn patellar tendon and received a platelet-rich plasma injection to address tendinitis in his left knee. Though the 25-year-old has been able to stay on top of his hitting progression throughout camp, he's needed more time to complete a running program and take part in full defensive drills. Gallegos noted that Butler appeared to be running the bases at full speed during his workout Sunday, so the outfielder may have cleared the final hurdle in the long recovery process. Since he's already been able to get plenty of competitive at-bats in through live batting practice sessions and simulated games, Butler may need to play in just a couple of Cactus League games to prove to the Athletics that he's ready to go for Opening Day.
-
Gavin Stone LAD SP
Dodgers' Gavin Stone: Nearing return to throwing
12m agoStone (shoulder) said Sunday that he hopes to begin playing catch next week, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
The right-hander was shut down in early March after being diagnosed with inflammation in his surgically repaired right shoulder, so it will take him some time to build his arm back up. Stone is hoping he can get back to mound work within the next month, which will likely push his return timeline into May, at least.
-
Jake Woodford TB SP
-
Hans Crouse BAL SP
Orioles' Hans Crouse: Makes spring debut
1h agoCrouse (lat) struck out two and allowed two earned runs on three hits over an inning of relief Saturday in the Orioles' 8-6 win over the Pirates in Grapefruit League debut.
The appearance was Crouse's first of spring training and signals that he's back to full health after he hadn't pitched in a game since April 3, 2025 while he recovered from a right lat strain. After being cut loose by the Angels last April shortly upon suffering the injury, Crouse had remained a free agent until he signed a minor-league deal with the Orioles in January. He's likely to open the season at Triple-A Norfolk.
-
Carson Seymour SF SP
Giants' Carson Seymour: Competing for bullpen spot
2h agoSeymour has allowed four earned runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out eight across 9.1 innings in four Cactus League outings, including one start.
While he has spent most of his time in the minors as a starter, the Giants' bullpen competition is wide open, and a relief role is Seymour's best shot at making the Opening Day roster. The right-hander made his big-league debut with San Francisco in the 2025 campaign and primarily operated out of the bullpen, finishing with a 4.75 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 26:13 K:BB across 36 innings in 16 outings (three starts).

Jose Corniell TEX SP
Rangers' Jose Corniell: Bound for Double-A
4h agoThe Rangers optioned Corniell (triceps/back) to Double-A Frisco on Sunday.
Though he was able to make his big-league debut late last season, Corniell will end up dropping back down to the Double-A level to begin the 2026 campaign after back and triceps injuries prevented him from gaining much momentum this spring in his bid for a spot in the Rangers' Opening Day bullpen. Corniell at least appears to be heading into the season healthy; he made his Cactus League debut Friday, issuing one walk and allowing no hits over a scoreless inning of relief.

Nathan Eovaldi TEX SP
Rangers' Nathan Eovaldi: Named Opening Day starter
4h agoThe Rangers announced Sunday that Eovaldi will start Opening Day against the Phillies on March 26.
The veteran right-hander is getting his third straight Opening Day nod for the Rangers, though he may more realistically be considered the club's No. 2 pitcher behind Jacob deGrom. Eovaldi was limited to 22 starts last season due to shoulder issues, but he was dominant when available with a 1.73 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 129:21 K:BB across 130 innings.

-
Shawn Dubin ARI RP
Diamondbacks' Shawn Dubin: Cut from big-league camp
45m agoThe Diamondbacks reassigned Dubin to minor-league camp Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.
Dubin had been attending camp as a non-roster invitee and was unable to secure a spot in Arizona's Opening Day bullpen after giving up four runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks over five innings in Cactus League play. The 30-year-old righty spent the 2025 season in the Astros and Orioles organizations, making 30 appearances in the majors while pitching to a 5.08 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB across 33.2 frames.
-
Isaiah Campbell ARI RP
Diamondbacks' Isaiah Campbell: Misses out on Opening Day roster
1h agoThe Diamondbacks reassigned Campbell to minor-league camp Thursday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.
Plenty of spots in Arizona's Opening Day bullpen were up for grabs in spring training, but Campbell was unable to seize one despite allowing just two baserunners over five innings across six Cactus League appearances. Campbell saw big-league action in each of the past three seasons but is slated to begin the 2026 campaign at Triple-A Reno.
-
Ryan Fernandez STL RP
Cardinals' Ryan Fernandez: Cut from big-league camp
1h agoThe Cardinals optioned Fernandez to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.
The right-hander made 32 relief appearances for St. Louis last year but struggled to a 7.71 ERA and 1.71 WHIP in 30.1 innings. Fernandez wasn't any better during spring training with eight runs allowed and a 7:5 K:BB across six frames, so he'll begin 2026 at Triple-A.
-
Nick Sandlin LAA RP
Angels' Nick Sandlin: Could make spring debut Sunday
2h agoSandlin (elbow) is listed among the Angels' available relievers for Sunday's Cactus League game against the Rockies, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
The Angels haven't confirmed that Sandlin will pitch Sunday, but his inclusion on the lineup card nonetheless indicates that he's fully ramped back up after he was eased along during the first few weeks of spring training while he recovered from an offseason arthroscopic procedure on his right elbow. Since he's attending camp as a non-roster invitee, Sandlin likely won't have sufficient time to stake a claim to a spot in the Angels' Opening Day bullpen, but he could put himself in the mix for an early call-up if he pitches effectively at Triple-A Salt Lake to begin the season.
-
Luken Baker ARI DH
Diamondbacks' Luken Baker: Dropped from big-league camp
5h agoThe Diamondbacks reassigned Baker to minor-league camp Sunday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Baker posted a .960 OPS over 39 plate appearances in the Cactus League, but his lack of defensive versatility and status as a non-roster player were enough to keep him from breaking camp with Arizona as a short-side platoon option at first base and designated hitter. He'll likely be in line for an everyday role at Triple-A Reno to begin the season.

Mark Vientos NYM DH
Mets' Mark Vientos: Spring struggles continue
7h agoVientos went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros.
Getting the start at first base and batting second, Vientos wasn't able to catch up to a 95.3 mph fastball from Ryan Weiss in the fourth inning, striking out on a foul tip into Carlos Perez's glove. The Mets are still hoping Vientos can rebound from a tough 2025 and become a key part of the offense, but he's batting a miserable .048 (1-for-21) this spring with a 0:4 BB:K. Given his defensive limitations, if the 26-year-old isn't contributing with his bat, his playing time could dwindle quickly once the regular season begins in favor of other young players like Brett Baty or Ronny Mauricio.

Shohei Ohtani LAD DH
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Throws 59 pitches in live BP
3d agoOhtani threw a four-inning, 59-pitch live batting-practice session against Team Japan during the team's workout Thursday, David Adler of MLB.com reports.
Ohtani isn't expected to pitch during the World Baseball Classic, but he continues to get in work on the mound while with Japan for the tournament. Per Adler, Ohtani faced 18 hitters Thursday and struck out seven of them over his four simulated innings. Though Ohtani's time away from the Dodgers -- and concurrent break from pitching in games -- may impact his pitch counts to a small degree in the early stages of the regular season, the two-way star is fully expected to open the campaign in the Dodgers' rotation.
-
Giancarlo Stanton NYY DH
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Swats first spring homer
5d agoStanton went 2-for-3 with a solo home run Monday in a Grapefruit League loss to the Pirates.
Stanton opened the scoring with a 424-foot cannon to left-center field in the second inning. The veteran slugger didn't make his spring debut until March 3, as the Yankees decided to ease him into action. Stanton has gone 2-for-8 with three strikeouts so far during the exhibition slate. He's probably going to spend most of his time at DH this year, but by playing 20 games in the outfield in 2025, he's eligible at that position in most fantasy leagues.
-
Andrew McCutchen TEX DH
Rangers' Andrew McCutchen: Debuts for Texas
5d agoMcCutchen started at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI in Monday's spring game against San Diego.
McCutchen stepped on the field for the first time since signing a minor-league deal with the Rangers last week. The 39-year-old has a little more than two weeks to show decision-makers that he can still make an impact. The early results were hopeful, as McCutchen's two batted-ball events clocked in at more than 100 mph. Designated hitter would appear to be his best shot at hooking on with the club, as the right-handed complement to Joc Pederson.

Byron Buxton MIN DH
Twins' Byron Buxton: Returns to Team USA lineup
6d agoBuxton (elbow) will start in center field and bat eighth in Monday's World Baseball Classic game versus Team Mexico.
Buxton was pulled from Friday's contest versus Team Brazil after being hit on the right elbow by a pitch. He did not play Saturday against Team Great Britain, but Buxton is fine and ready to roll for Monday's tilt.
