This gruesome injury to a Dayton player on his game-sealing dunk is hard to watch
Josh Cunningham suffered a nasty injury on the dunk that sealed Dayton's win at Alabama.
Dayton's 77-72 road victory at Alabama on Tuesday was marred by a gruesome injury to Josh Cunningham on the dunk that put the game away for the Flyers.
In the closing seconds of the game with Alabama gaining possession and a final opportunity to cut the lead, the Crimson Tide turned the ball over to Dayton. The ball was pushed up the floor to Cunningham, who threw down an emphatic game-sealing dunk, but also suffered what appeared to be a painful leg injury in the process.
After the game, Dayton coach Archie Miller provided what seemed to be a grim prognosis on the apparent injury to his left leg.
Dayton coach Archie Miller says F Josh Cunningham has a leg/knee injury: "We could be in a situation where we could lose him for some time."

Cunningham was seen screaming in pain and in tears as he was carried off the floor after the injury.
Without Cunningham, who had 8 of his 12 points in the second half and dominated the paint with his physical play to lead the Flyers to the road victory, the Flyers will be without one of their best post players for an undetermined amount of time, despite clinching a big win on the road.
The Flyers will continue their season on Saturday as they take on the St. Mary's Gaels.
