LOOK: Oregon places flowers on the field to honor late Nebraska punter Sam Foltz
An Oregon player offered condolences for the loss of Sam Foltz
The healing process for Nebraska's football program continues after the loss of punter Sam Foltz, killed in a car accident this offseason along with former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler in July. In the season opener, the Cornhuskers honored their late teammate by taking a delay of game with only 10 players on the field for the first punt of the game.

On Saturday, an Oregon player offered a gesture from the visiting Ducks by placing flowers at the 27-yard-line -- 27 for Foltz's uniform number.

Foltz was also honored in Wisconsin's thrilling 16-14 win over LSU as Rafael Gaglianone hit a go-ahead 47-yard field goal with 3:47 left in the game to give the Badgers a two-point lead while wearing Foltz's No. 27. Gaglianone normally wears No. 10 but opted to change numbers to honor his fallen friend.
The 22-year-old Foltz was the Big Ten punter of the year in 2015 as a junior and was on the Ray Guy Award watch list coming into his senior season. Foltz averaged 44.23 yards per punt in 2015.
