UCLA at Texas A&M to kick off SEC on CBS coverage, 2016 schedule announced
CBS will broadcast one of the opening weekend's most-anticipated games as part of what is sure to be a loaded SEC on CBS schedule for 2016
Have you seen the opening weekend schedule for the 2016 college football season? It's packed with top teams playing nonconference showdowns from Thursday to Monday, and CBS Sports will have you covered in the traditional SEC on CBS time slot (3:30 p.m. ET) on Saturday to get your season started right.
CBS will broadcast UCLA at Texas A&M live from College Station, Texas, with Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson and Allie LaForce on the call. The game also kicks off the final season of SEC on CBS for Lundquist, as it was announced on Tuesday that he will hand the headset off to Brad Nessler following the 2016.
Texas A&M will unveil its new offense led by quarterback Trevor Knight, a graduate transfer from Oklahoma, against Josh Rosen and UCLA in the first leg of a home-and-home series with the Bruins for 2016-17.
The news comes along with an updated schedule for the college football coverage on CBS, which includes 17 regular season SEC games (doubleheaders on Nov. 5 and Nov. 12), the SEC Championship Game and national spotlights for our service academies. This year, CBS gets Notre Dame-Navy in an early kickoff on Nov. 5, one-third of what should be a huge day for college football.
